  • Nina was about 4 years old at the time, why does she have bars on her bed? My daughter would get out of bed first thing and run straight to the den where Momma was chatting on Mixi. I guess routine is important for children, especially first thing in the morning.

  • @Dax893 Yeah, Nina had outgrown her baby bed by this time, but it took us awhile to find her a bigger one. And, yes, routine is everything. Nina wakes up at 6:00 every morning (including Sunday!).

  • i would mind if you want to lean on my back nina coz you really are cute!!

  • A very agreeable child :)

  • I'm honor to watch Nina and Her family :) She is so cute :)

  • I love it when she lays on top of momma!

  • lovely girl~ there's nothing like waking up in the morning & seeing a child's beautiful smile..we should follow Nina's example..hihi =))

  • geofg , cant believe ..people actually have a heart to post bad comments . You raising and sharing an angel here :)

  • @latinopapita Thank you! You ALWAYS leave such nice comments. As for negative comments, I have actually been surprised at how FEW negative comments I get on Nina's videos. When I look at other channels on YouTube, it amazes me how many negative people there are out there, but I feel lucky because mostly they do not leave comments here. There will always be negative people in the world, but I just try not to worry about them and don't let them draw me into an argument.

  • Nina is gorgeous, ma shaa Allah. Love from Cairo Egypt. <3

  • @fabbff Thank you!

  • awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww とてもかわいい!!!!!!!!!!! ^_^

  • The first time I saw Nina was in the the egypt video a friend sent me. Since then i haven't been able to stop myself from watching almost all the videos you have uploaded. Being an early childhood specialist and working with so many different children i truly admire her linguistic skills... to top it all of she's bilingual AMAZING. It truly says a lot about the nurturing environment you guys have provided her, hats off to you!!!!!!

  • @azebm Thanks a lot! Japanese is definitely Nina's mother tongue, but she can at least communicate in English. From the reading we have done, the biggest danger in trying to raise a child to be bilingual is if he or she becomes only semi-lingual in both languages. Since we live in Japan, it makes sense that Japanese be Nina's main language, so with English, I just have to settle for her being able to communicate for now. Hopefully, she can live in an English speaking country someday, too.

  • @geofg I'm glad to here that! Also there is an amazing professor that i have had honour of studying and working under who specializes on children's bilingual skills and the importance on the preservation of home language. When you get a chance please visit her website, you might find some useful resources there regarding child development in regards for linguistic skills ( ryerson ca /mylanguage/about/)

  • @azebm OK, I'll check her out!

  • @azebm yea me 2!!!!

i read abt d egypt video in d newspaper n since den m watchin her videos!!!

  • @mnemosyen360 Yes, I agree that waiting until you are older to have children is better. Enjoy your youth more first!

  • it is very calm down

  • She's such a beautiful little girl! Makes me smile every time I see the connection you both have with each other. Good luck fending off the boys in the future! ;)

  • @glorhall ha ha Thanks! Hopefully, I don't have to worry about the boys coming around for a few more years!

  • I live in Vietnam originally. My father moved there as an american. And My mother is with him. And Vietnamese is my 1 language and english is 2. But I prefer to use english as much peoplein vietnam can use english. Not many, but some do. My father has taught me lots and I have visited the UK.

  • @spongebobsquidward I went to Vietnam once and I did meet a lot of Vietnameese who could speak English quite well.

I live in Vietnam. Very nice. I have only been to Japan once.

  • kawaii !! :*

  • OMG she is sooooooooooo sooooooooooooooo cute and smart! You have a beautiful family, thank you for sharing. I've been trying to have a family (baby) and I'm wishing for a daughter :) Hopefully, I'll have a daughter as adorable as Little Nina :)

  • @hellogolfy Thank you! It took us awhile (a year and a half maybe) before Nina decided to come along, so don't get discouraged. I also (secretly) wanted a girl, but was of course prepared for either. And, now, every day, I feel so thankful that Nina has become a part of our family. Good luck to you!

  • @juicydiior Thanks again! OK, I'll keep Sesame Place in mind if we ever make it to PA!

  • the hugs at the end brought tears to my eyes. if you have a super nice american guy friend to introduce you may do so with permission! nice work, god bless you and Nina and wifey xx

  • @whooaah Thank you! I know one pretty nice guy, but he's an Australian. Does that work? ha ha

  • @geofg you know what, i'm in Singapore, he's just south of my country! how old were you when Nina was born? I really want to learn japanese, anyway you can help me out? say hi to your wifey and Nina!!!

  • @whooaah I was 39 when Nina was born. I'm an OLD Papa! ha ha I bet you could find some good Japanese teaching sites on-line. Also, my friend Victor has a good site on YouTube for teaching Japanese. His site is: gimmeaflakeman

  • @geofg i'm not kidding! where in japan are you at? i'd love to go over and hang out with her, if that is ok for you and wifey of course. i'd bring her a soft toy and maybe barbie? barbie is an american thing!

  • @whooaah My wife has made me promise to not share any private information on this site. I'm sure you are a nice person, but I have to respect my wife's wishes.

    im from morocco

  • I think what I like best about you videos is not just that Nina is so cute~, but also you are such a nice family...so calm and having a good time doing normal things and teaching nina

  • Thanks! You've pretty much summed up our family philosophy: The key to contentment is to find joy in daily activities. If you go looking for it, you may never find it.

  • Unng, nothing good comes from a working guy.. Everyday just woke up, work work work, go home and sleep. Rinse and repeat.. Oh gawd... Need to find a spice in my life ...

  • Wow, that sounds pretty grim. Maybe you should look around for a job that gives you more free time. Sometimes, just thinking about doing something else can make you feel less trapped because you realize you have options.

  • Yeah, I now have a job as Operation Specialist and I'm supposed to work 14 days a month but I work in a rotating shifts ... Hmm, might need a little time to adapt to it, I guess. And...yes, watching your videos inspired me :)

Oh, Merry Christmas to you and your family!

  • nina is just sooooooo cuuuuteeeeeeeeee!!

  • No, I know just enough to get the gist of what you're saying, but couldn't generate a sentence in Spanish of my own without a bunch of nihongo slipping in. Well, I guess I could ask for a cold beer: Una cerveza fria por favor. Ha ha. Is that right? Nina used to pick up a few words of Spanish from watching Dora the Explorer, but our satellite TV company discontinued Nickelodeon, so she can't watch that anymore.

    anyway! kisses to nina!!

  • So, you are tri-lingual! That's great. Can you understand japonesa tambien?

  • That's right!

oh no, i can't understand japanese at all, and i'd really like to.. it's so beautiful, and fascinating.

If i have the time i'll attend a japanese language course..after my degree i mean.

I think it will be helpful for a hypothetical career ;) and it will be very fun too!

keep watching you and nina talking..

    you capture me

    hasta prontido! :D

  • to lifemango,

but any language course that u going to learnt is not enough. to me language is something u need to practise everyday. Means u need someone to talk to, in your case u need japanese speaker. I am trilingual myself now, by suppose i am 4-lingual but i dont count Espanol(spanish) anymore because i started to forgot everything that i learnt :(

  • sorry for the late answwer!

yes you're right..i wish i have some japanese speaker near me...but its not so simple :P

and yes, if you dont train everyday a language you will soon forget it!

for now i watch nina's videos and it's ok.. i can understand words like "osaka" ahaha..

    wow ._.

    let's see in the future!

    kisses!

  • sou ka!! ahhh that is a shame indeed. u_u' I'm amazed this reply got posted... I wrote another comment but for some reason it's not posting my text comments on your channel...I wonder why that is. It's been doing this on several videos now. Hmmmm...strange.

P.S. Yes, that was right. Cold beer coming up! lol.

  • I guess I could find the Dora shows on the internet, but I don't want to get Nina in the habit of spending lots of time on the computer. I'm sure she will discover the whole world of computers and cell phones soon enough, so no need to speed that process along. Another woman also told me she couldn't post vids here. She thought I had blocked her. I wonder why that happens.

  • Whenever I see you two together (and I know I point it out in almost every video) the older she gets, the more she looks like you. Her nose gets more slender and you two definitely have the same nose. I'm just weird that way. hahaha. She is still too cute.

  • geofg are cute too :p

  • Ha ha. You are just about the only person who notices her similarity to me, but thanks! I take it as a complinent. I hope her nose doesn't get quite as big as mine, though. Ha ha.

  • I love her "nope".

  • Yeah, I like it too. Maybe she got that from me as well, but it's cuter when she says it.

  • That was so cute when she came over to give you a hug, I cried a little! I'm gonna go hug my dad as soon as he comes home! :D
