Claudia was heavily damaged for being made a vampire so young. I don't even think she fully understands the circumstances of them taking her away from her mother (who was already dead). But Lestat should have thought of the consequences of creating a child that would never get older physically. Her mind grew though her body didn't and thats where the trouble really starts.

I can't exactly say that I like Claudia, but I can understand her motives. I don't blame her for killing Lestat. I think that he deserved everything that happened it all. He used other people's lives, he only thought of himself. He didn't care about Louis' or Claudia's opinion, this selfish "dark prince" and for that I despise him. It doesn't change the fact that he's one of my favourite characters. Funny - I like him, but at the same time I'm disgusted by that he did to Claudia.

Also, the novel, Interview with the Vampire is more detailed than the movie, obviously. Claudia is more of an important character in the story than Lestat and Louis, why? Because she's based on Anne Rice's daughter who passed away in the 70s at five years of age.

Twilight is ridiculous. The story-line and literature elements within that series was meant for those who possess little intelligence. Anne Rice' The Vampire Chronicles are magnificently written stories about the vampire mythology and Vampire itself. Interview with the Vampire gave a new meaning and in depth sight to Vampires -- Twilight didn't, it just exploited the word Vampire and unknowingly degraded them. Anne Rice=Real queen of the Damned, Stephenie Meyer=TURD!

In a more recent interview Kirsten Dunst admitted that she understood her character was complex when she played her, but at that age she really couldn't understand what Claudia was going through. (And psychologically, a child that age simply hasn't the ability to.) So she had to learn how to fake it. That, in itself, impresses me. You'd never guess.
