This is so hard to learn. lol A few months ago I could do it, then I stopped practicing, and I just got it perfect a minute ago, but my aluminum chucks keep hitting my wrist bone and the inside of my forearm. Great trick though. Love these vids.
Tnx a lot!!! There is almost none intructors of this sport on my country, i love nunchakus and i can learn from u! Being practicing a lot lately, tnx, keep up the good work. U are like the super dynamic couple! :-D
did you make your nunchaku? how heavy should they be cause i made mine with half inch emt pipe and they dont seem to spin as easily as your maybe too heavy?
Mr. Cooper, you rock! I study martial arts in Los Mochis, Mexico, and your tutorials are great indeed, thanks for your teachings, and may you have and excellent day you and your cool wife.
Great video! I have a question. When working on this move, I am having a great deal of difficulty getting my thumb out of the way of the nunchaku when I go around my fingers. Any tips, or is this just a case of practice makes perfect?
Nice. Thanks for this, even though they aren't the "proper" names, it is a better tutorial than most on the net! And yeah, I actually use 14" even though my arms are shorter, and I "need" 12 or 10"... they are just more comfortable.
Where can I get chucks like that I have been looking forever!! My friend says I may have to get them from China! Could ya help? Like the one in this video!!
Hey man very easy to learn video!!!! I got down you rev. double x with two chucks. Now just looking for different moves to pull off. Do you have any other double nunchaku video!!! Thx. J.
Great tutorial, thanks. And i agree sometimes i just have to walk away from them lol, im just a beginner at them but ill get there it's just frustrating, by the way where do you get your chux from or which chux would you recommend? Thanks
hmmm... at first I thought that I was doing the right thing but I was surprised because I was doing the "hurricane" instead of the "tornado"... its quite hard to do it first time but you'll get the hang of it! oh and dont give up! hehehe...
Yep, don't give up. Sometimes you just have to drop it and walk away and come back later when you've composed yourself. I've had to do this many times but I always come back for more... Hee hee its like an old friend sometimes.
How short are you chains? The chains must be at least the length of the palm of your hand. Otherwise it will fly away. Sorry Cooper did not mention that in his video.
i have 2 kinds, one is the length of my wrist, the other one is like , just for flashy moves, i cut the chain based on a vid i saw about pro-chux (thats how they called them)but well im not counting on those, still the first ones i got them that length from the store ad i still fail ^^UU
Use normal chuks (not the short ones) and start slow just to get your hand familiar with the flow. Then you must try at a faster speed otherwise it will fall out of your hands. This is because the Nunchuku does not have the momentum to spin. You are not grabbing the nunchuku, instead you are allowing it to ride around your hand. Momentum is the key, let it flow. Your hand has to be quick in transitioning the chucks to spin front to back, back to front using yoru thumb as a guide
i know prochux can be used for more than flashy, and yes i know the chain stops them from being pro chux, but .-. even when i tried i was unable to buy prochux D=
You are being very general. Chux do not have to be palm length ties. They might fly away when you use them but that is not the case for people that can actually do chux. If you hold the short rope chux at the right spot more tricks are available to you that you even know and for are easier to do. But I suppose it all depends on what one wants to represent when doing this art.
Uvmaster, with all do respect if you can do the technique with the short chux more power to you, my advice was to someone who was having a difficult time with it. I personally have not used ProChux. My husband has tried with both in the past and had difficulties with the short ones not sure if they were (prochux) that was why he suggested I recommend with palm length. Anyways that is our recommendation, if you have suggestion for short links, do share. Thanks!
I was wondering if your husband ever felt like his chucks are out of control. Not in a controlled situation but like with hitting and maybe fighting with them when you don't really know where they are going next? No I am not karatevideoguy, he is my business partner and student.
My husband doesn't fight, and if he does have to fight it would only be in self defense, he certainly wouldn't use any weapons. He uses Nunchakus for creating forms. However, he does practice striking on Bob when he does that, he does not spin his weapon, mainly basic striking to keep it real so it is always in his control.
just to clarify, when I say he practices on Bob, I should mention as in the dummy "the Bob" not an actual person. Just so there is no misunderstanding and that people don't think that he is actually beating up a person by the name of Bob, LOL.

I had the same problem. If your thumb is getting caught, it means you are doing it wrong. watch the video a little more carefully.

Chain will not work with the ProChux. Because it is short doesn't make it ProChux!! It is not for just flashy if you knew what to do with them.
