  • was looking at this today and realized my Snap on brand multitool that came with a flashlight is lighter and has everything this does but no scissors.....forget leathermen mine cost $40 at costco.....

  • I have had some problems with my pliers when use the wire cutters. The material I am cutting sometimes gets stuck between the two blades and when I try to open the pliers the handles fold.So what I want to ask is how can I tighten the screws on the handles considering the screws have pins in them ?

  • oh yeah, i almost forgot i also got a s2 and a gerber octane.

  • i think i'm a mt addict now. thanks for enabling me in my addiction brother!! in the last 2 weeks i have gotten the wingman, p4, crunch, ti, and victorinox spirit x.

  • Ordered a TTi with the help of your expertise!!! Appreciate it, i almost went off with a gerber flik. Thanks for the Reviews

  • Leatherman website tells me Charge Ti is great for emergency and off-road, while Wave seems to cover more areas in their 'great for' list......I am thinking of getting a leatherman and a victorinox... mainly to cover things that one doesn't have while another does. Would Wave be a good buy compared to Charge Ti if main thing I'll be using it would be urban EDC + camping + outdoors?

  • Great review! I bought a charge the other day and it is just about the best all around tool put there. Keep the reviews coming. Note:I really like my new Leatherman Wingman as well.

  • Every single plain edge blade that leatherman makes blows Victorinox's out the water

  • Say again? I didn't catch what kind of oil you use on your blades.

  • @krazykow90 Rem Oil (gun oil)

  • yo what's your likeability scale on the charge tti? thanks for the great reviews

  • The Charge is pretty fantastic.

One gripe -- Leatherman's can/bottle opener tool is a good can opener but a lousy bottle opener. Not enough "hook" underneath to get leverage under the bottle cap. The cap lifter on my lil' 1.6 oz Victorinox Cadet SAK totally pwns the Leatherman for cracking open a brew.

That's OK -- you don't buy an 8.3 oz MT to open beverages.

  • So glad it works.

  • "There are certain times where I need a clean cut on a limb". Thought I was watching Dexter for a second.

  • HAHA...He said ''Out of the closet'', and ''Anal'' in the same video! LOL! =D

  • i was showing my dad this video but didn't tell him what it was about and but just before started i scrolled down to see any funny comments, and then it started with " well i'm coming out of the closet..." and my dad freaked out and thought i was watching videos about people confessing that they are gay LOL. Thanks nutnfancy for making my dad think i'm creepy lol :)

  • Wish you would have addressed the various sheaths available with the Charge. One is really large that can hold flashlights on the side etc.

  • love leatherman pliers but the cutters don't cut stranded wire well

  • when he said he needs a clean cut on a limb, i was scared till he said a tree

  • hay nutn sharpen that flat head on that leatherman and you can use that as another tool i love your vid

  • Would you recommend the Charge TTi or the Wave?

  • @zachsbanks i just got the charge tti and i would recommend it over the wave, its a lil more expensive but the blade is s30v, far superior to the 420 on the wave, the titanium is also corrosion resitant and i like the rescue cuttter on the tti, to me the extra price is worth it for the quality, if ur serious about ur tools the charge tti wins and the wave is for the basic guy tht just needs a tool to get the job done, i hope tht helps

  • @zachsbanks the al is the in between of the two

  • this is weird my one has a rescue hook on the serrated blade

  • @benphillis1 That would be the more modern TTi version...

  • no bottle opener?

  • @aznmigitman1118 i think the can opener doubles as a bottle opener

  • why does the charge alx have 2 bit drivers?

  • I purchased this tool "Charge Ti" about a month & I love this tool.

I have a Surge & Wave also but the build quality on the Charge Ti gives it a slight edge over the other two.

But I admit I purchased the Surge mainly for the scissors, your right scissors due matter.

  • very very similar to the WAVE

  • Seriously considering one of these. You know what it needs though? A knife sharpener! People who own tons of knives have multi tools like the Charge TTi. A sharpener with replaceable surfaces. I would get it, if that counts for anything.

  • @shredthegnarbrah mmmm, that sounds doable. something similar to the bit driver,

but instead of a bit, it would hold a little ceramic rod, like the ones used in the gatco mini gatstix pocket sharpener.

  • I'm from Brazil, coul any of you guys tell me what is Rim Oil? Does it have another name? Thanks!

  • @razorhanny

Hey, I believe it's Remington's own oil for gun/tool cleaning and lubrication. And to stop corrosion.

  • @razorhanny its rem oil, and the significance of it is that it is safe for consumption.

so if u cut your meat with a knife with rem oil, the oil will not ruin the food or make you sick.

  • Picked one up today at a pawn shop for 35 bucks...i stole it...great tool

  • I just got the TTI for christmas and its awesome, the blade is razor sharp in s30v steel and it comes with (drumroll please) a pocket clip!

  • i think you will like the leatherman MUT its a new leatherman multitools why not check it out

  • "I have tried to open a car door with this...that would not be wise..." Great stuff

  • see his awl add on vid, i think its a good one

  • Hey Nutn do you think the new Leather Charge ALX Black model is worth the loss of scissors for the rescue hook?

  • here i am watching a 2yr old nutnfancy vid when deciding what multitool to buy...kinda tells alot

  • thats not a hook remover its a notch to make deployment easier.

  • Want to sell me something, make it out of titanium. This looks like a great tool, I hope they still sell it.

  • i was very worryed when you said you needed a clean cut un a limb, thanks for clarifying

  • SWISS ARMY CAN OPENER IN A LEATHERMAN WAVE --> BEST PRODUCT EVAA!

  • man dude nutnfancy your reviews are the best. you tell it as it is no bull. you totally got me convinced to get a multi-tool and specificly the charge TTi. from your videos i've learned what to look for in a knife and a multi-tool. just awsome dude, rock on.

  • "im not gonna talk about the juice s2...great compact relatively light weight multitool" LOLZ :)

  • I got a question for you. I have the same tool, and used a thicker grease on the pvt point, therefore, one blade is hard to snap it out now. I do not have a screw to un-tighten the screw to take them apart to wash it.... any idea?

  • Please review sog power assist b66-n!

  • i did manage to break the knife blade (the S30V one) on my Charge tti about 4 weaks ago. i did use it to lift a heavy concrete block. i did email leatherman to ask for the price of a new blade. they told me to send it inn.... and 14 days after i had a new Charge tti delivered to me for free....25 years waranty.... yup.

  • 4:32 o rly

  • Thanks for the video, i learned a lot

are you going to do a review on the leatherman MUT when it comes out?

  • I found this video while researching multi-tools, and then proceeded to watch about 20 hrs of TNP over the following 2 days! I received my charge tti a couple days ago, and have already been putting it to great use! Thanks for the solid videos, and keep them coming!

  • I have the Charge Ti, and it seizes to impress me everyday. One of my uncles offered to buy it from me but I said no. Im not putting a price on mine

  • @salazar16alex I think the phrase you're looking for is "it never ceases to impress me" =)

  • great video, love your enthusiasm. I agree with the can opener remark. I'm looking to get the leatherman skeletol cx.

  • dudes i just pulled the trigger on a great deal on ebay.

$90 US for a gift set including: Silver version Charge AL + Serac S1 flashlight + inka pen + a pock-its holster and a collector tin that fits the tool and flashlight.

Don'd know how many were made like this, but it is a collectors item i think.

sellers name is: gad-zooks, store name is Gad Zooks.

  • Bought the charge ALX, just came in from amazon yesterday. Thanks for the good review, I'm happy with the product.

  • hmmm i have leatherman kick, which applier doesn't close entirely. thinking to change it if i find the guarantee note.

  • hey nutnfancy do u have a re view on the leatherman surge?

  • question, do you know how to sharpen those tools by the way?

  • Great video, I has this charge tool ... and sadly I should admit that those removable bits you've mention are almost useless as it's impossible to reach with them anything(i needed). At least philips screw driver just do not work, because screw is usually in hole or some distance and this tool is too bold to get there ... small one (flat) - was broken with the first use, and it was a tiny screw, so it was used properly, nothing else could be applied there...so this is my experience with it

  • Hello, multitool what you wear on a day-to-day? Charge, Wave, swiss tool .....

    Thanks!

  • is that a magnet strip you added to the side there? if not what is the story behind that little black strip on the side.

  • yes nutn we know how anal you are lol

  • if you want a charge ti i saw one at amozon with nylon sheath for $94 hurry only a couple left for sale

  • Just discovered your videos and am totally enjoying. Got a question. Which one of the multi tools cuts through wire the best? Such as fence wire. Will any of them cut through barbed wire?

We trail ride horses, and it is not uncommon for horses to get tangled in downed and hidden fence wire on the trails. My daughter was hopelessly tangled in barbed wire after falling from her run away horse. Wished Leatherman had a model that included a hoof pick for us equestrians.

  • I saw a Charge TTI with a crimper in the pliers. Is this an older model or different version?

  • @CavefishX the tti has crimpers on the pliars, so does the xti and the alx

  • looks like a file on the outside aswell he he.... nice vid

  • oops typo have not hane

  • what should i buy if i hane $140 tti or al

  • Hey nutnfancy, got a question for you. I've got a supposedly Leatherman Charge TTi from amazon germany but the handles look just like the ones on the Ti you reviewed in this video (not the greenish-dark grey titanium handles it usually has). Although, my main blade's steel is S30V and on the box it does say Leatherman Charge TTi Titanium. What's your oppinion?

  • Have you had any difficulties pulling out the inside tools - i.e., screwdriver, can opener, scissors. Mine are fairly tight, and I've only tried silicone lubricant so far. Been using the tool bits to pry them out - so my nails can have a rest. Any suggestions? Thanks!

  • iv been planning on ordering charge tti for a while now and i have a bid placed on an orange juice s2 on ebay and i saw this video and thought the coincidence was hilarious

  • Thinking of asking this for Fathers Day as the backup to my HD 300...hmmmmmm. Very intriguing......yes indeed! :-)

  • Oh My God laughed my ass off at the beginning

  • I checked and Nutn's right about leatherman discontinuing stuff. I checked and the Charge Ti and the Squirt P4 are both discontinued(as of June 2010).

  • I learned so much from you. It's great to have people like you in the world. thanx man .

  • lmao "okay so Ive just came out of the closet"

  • that black one is sexy... think i'm gonna go try and find one

  • Is there any real advantage of the TI vs the AL variant of the charge?

    Thanks!

  • between this and the S2. which would u recdommend? the sizes of the 2 are not very different. would this be worth paying more?

  • hahaha I love ya nutnfancy, but when your like "Im not gunna talk about the juice again...." *starts talking about juice.. I was like O god here we go again.... haha

  • @eriequiet LOL! He just can't help himself... ;) -- Veri

  • @nutnfancy does the juice s2 have rounded edges

  • Another great review Nutn. I'm currently debating on either this, the Charge TTI, or the Victorinox SwissTool RS. the Vic is about 94$ and the charge is 1344, not cheap up here in Canada land, but for what you get I think it's worth it. Really leaning towards the Charge though, looks like a much better tool with the removable bits. i guess i'll see what I buy based on "second type of cool" when i get to play with them :)

  • i love all your videos, i got the Charge Tti thanks to this video and i have already ordered the leatherman juice for edc, if you could post a video on how to proper clean your knives would be awesome, keep up with the great videos!

  • ti* reply!!

  • which is better tu or al?

  • I just had to say, I've had a Leatherman Wave rust on me. Although this was because I was using in around see water. The rust was only superficial and cleaned perfectly, and this was after being stored around sea water brine for couple days!

  • hey for how much this AWSOME multi tool !!

  • I love your reviews, nutnfancy!

Please, please, make a review on the Leatherman MUT.

Especially for you, it is just the perfect tool, right?

  • This one looks like Leatherman Charge AL with 154 Stainless steel blade. Charge TTI only comes with S30V. I' noticed there is a difference on tip of Pliers between TTI and AL.

  • I love leatherman tools I carry a Wave around daily. I'd love to see a review on the leatherman MUT utility.

  • for getting your money's worth what is better leatherman surge or leatherman charge ALX

  • I think the Surge gives you more bang for your buck. With the ALX you give up your scissors for a dedicated saw and file when you can have both with the blade changer on the Surge. And honestly I have found the hook on the serrated blade to be nearly useless, it just weakens the serrated blade. As far as inside tools go, the Surge has more to offer with the awl and the flat blade or mini prybar. The Surge is a little heavier though.

  • you scared me in the beginning........

  • @Knifemaster464 Hahaha! I had to run it back to see what you were talking about. He just thought he was in the closet..we all knew. ;) -- Veri

  • @nutnfancy lol

  • @Knifemaster464 lol same here dude. definitely an interesting way to open the vid. hahah

  • "Atleast you have a pair"

  • Nutnfancy, the leatherman file is the best in the business. The diamond file can be used for sharpening and reprofiling (especially axes in the field)!

  • @thesho0ter1911 dude are you sure you can sharpen stuff with it cuz that would be freakin awesome if you could

  • better quality blades, materials

  • Comment removed

  • what about the sog powerassist?

  • hey nutnfancy u should do a reveiw on the leatherman wave just got one and i love it.

  • the leatherman charge tti is my next buy. didnt really have my eye on it and was considering the 300, but after some reviews, including this one, it looks like my next edc. especially like that it has scissors.

  • Gret multitool but I dont think ill ever need some of the functions. I doubt ill ever use the jeweler's tool, the file, the serated blade (i much prefer plain edge blades), or the removable screw bit tool (if i need something other than a philips of flat head then chances are im working in my garage and have that particular tool handy.

the juice S2 is my kind of multitool.

    Great video by the way.

  • leatherman is the way to go.. i just wish the belt clip was more sturdy, it feels like a could break it with my bare hands

  • Only thing I wish they had was a plexi/glass breaker, and an awl. I wonder if a removable glass breaker could be made to fit the clip/lanyard ring spot?

  • or replace the screwdriver bit?

  • I love the orange juice. =)

  • this is a great review . nice multi tool. i hope leatherman co. appreciates the free advertising they're getting here, cuz this totally makes me want one now. truly. thx for posting.

  • I've been thinking about buying an excellent multi-tool, and this vid just sold me on the TTI!

  • What kinda oil do u use to maintain these leatherman tools?

  • Actually, the wire cutters on the Charge TTi are reaaaally bad. They can't cut through 1mm steel wire.

  • have it on me every day but the tti version

    very useful love it

  • ahh i love this knife, i carry it around with me everyday, and i use it everyday. Mine is a very tad different though..

    anyways great video

  • Leatherman needs to make a new one like the Surge but with S30V blades, the crimper, and the rescue cutter (that would make it have 20 tools =O!)

  • @GoldenColts while they're at it they can add titanium or aluminum plates on the outside and make the surge more comfortable to handle when using the outside blades. That would make it the ultimate multi tool in my opinion.

  • @PatrioticSlaughter its bigger and quite bulky

  • this is just like a Surge only it has smaller tools i.e. the scissors. i prefer the features of the surge over the charge.

  • Sooo nice, make a movie! Great book!

  • your vids are good but they are long and bowrring

  • i like buying knives too

  • haha nice start.

  • I love SOG! The powerassist is my favorite out of all multi tools I've seen. I wanted a saw (not often used but good to have) so I bought one and replaced a stock tool. Perfect array of tools but is somwhat heavy. Love it!!!

  • sounds a lot like the wave. i have an old school one and i really like the removable bits. not enough to go and get a new one though.

  • what do you use them fof all the time:)

  • i have the new charge, it only differs in one way, tehres a gut hook on the serated blade - great for aa hunter like me as an edc

  • I amso getting this. The TTi though, better steel. Yeah not by much, but I'm anal.

  • Comment removed

  • i wish they didnt discontinue the ti, i dont really like tti

  • i agree, now i have to spend more for the same product basically.

  • hey i have a knife i will trade you for a knife plz

  • if you are on a budget, the wave is a great tool, ive had the same one for years and abused it, and it never fails me...i just like some of the added materials and features that they bring in the charge tti....btw size, form factor and weight are all identical (ok, weight differs by like .2 oz. but nothin you can detect)

  • besides price, the materials of the charge tti are far more durable, stronger, will hold a sharper edge for longer, and are just plain something to brag about. the steel of the main blade of the charge tti is wayy better than that of the wave. it has a cutting hook (for paracord, etc), wire crimper, more bits (but you can always buy more for a nominal price), titanium handles (which have scaling for grip, definatly a plus) and a releasable pocket clip and lanyard ring.

  • You should review the leatherman freestyle cx, i saw the non cx version @ target and it looks cool but just 2 tools? how does it stand up vs the juice. Awesome videos keep it up

  • Actually, it has needlenose pliers, regular pliers, wire cutters, hard wire cutters, and a knife.

  • that little hook at 5:15 is so you can get it out easyer on the therman wave ,juice and th charge ti

  • duracoat the juice :p

  • i got my leatherman charge ti today and i love it... im no blade expert but i reviewd it and this tool is amazing.... im never going to buy a multi tool ... this one does the job

  • and leatherman also changed and added things... mine is a bit differnt then nutnfancys

  • Comment removed

  • a few common sizes do, but you can buy more if need maybe.

  • i never post on youtube but in this case i just had to hijack my sons account to post here on this leatherman review.NUTNFANCY you should qit the forces and sell these things, leatherman you should pay royalties to him as he really makes your superb products shine even brighter. anyway i have the silver coloured charge tti and i promise you all nutnfancy really tells it how it is, my only gripe is with UK law not allowing me to carry it in public but hey thats how it is.nutnfancy well done sir

  • Where's your video dude?

  • I bought my dad the charge AL version for Xmas and he loves it and uses it everyday. Now i want one!

  • This looks like the one for me, Thanks Nutn!

  • its the same as the wave exactly the same as the wave expect the ti and al covering and the blades are slightly different ever so slightly

  • the wave duznt use 154 cm it uses s/t else i 4get wut tho but its not as good of a steel

  • yeah..and its stronger and if im correct the charge has scissors and the wave has not

  • no the wave has scissors

  • the wave has scissors

  • the wave has scissors i believe...the main differences between the charge and the wave has to do with materials

  • Nutnfancy, I just got a Charge TTi, and I was wondering what tool you preferred more, the TTi or the Ti and AL.

  • how much does this tool cost?

  • The Ti is now a retire tool, but the AL (same thing with hard anodized aluminum) is around $110 and the TTi is around $130.

  • Have you ever thought about reviewing the Surge? I use it in my edc and would love to hear your thoughts on it.

  • for anyone who owns a Charge TTi, or knows about it, is the tool able to be dissasembled?

because of the quality of youtube, I cant tell if those are rivets or hex bolts....

  • Yeah, I agree with the discontinuing bit. My old PST was just stolen, and I really miss it. Got it as a young teenager.

  • Wish we could of saw the case for them

  • i think the flathead is good for opening paint cans

  • great review man
