Thanks for your comment. I listened to your bamboo self made flute . it sounds great a combination of shakuhachi and recorder. Sound is warmer than traditional recorder because its bamboo.
This is a beautiful video! I'm a flute teacher and I feel the same for my western concert flute - and I want to give the same feelings to my students. Thank you!
Bamboo tiki torches are available locally (South Florida). For a time, I found bamboo stakes and poles (for gardens and decoration) useful sources as well. Thanks.
Very nice. I am only on my third day of playing one (a very simple PVC pipe in 1.8) I am still working on getting my breathing right and the proper angle for good sound before I can work on fingering.
Thanks. Keep on practicing pretty soon you'll be playing and enjoying you can hardly put the shakuhachi down nor far from you. Next I encourage you to make your own out of bamboo and you will experience greater enjoyment playing what you have made yourself.
Maybe you can also source it inexpensively from a nearby store or elsewhere. You know, many of my favorite shakuhachis I picked up and crafted out of bamboos left behind in old fences and abandoned huts.

Great to live where bamboo is available so you can make your own shakuhachi!

Yeah. Just search for "zachawry" on YouTube. Don't have any honkyoku up, though.
