btw the guy and the gurl who play laila majnu .. are a really gud couple .. they have potential :) .. unlike other bollywood couples.. tbh.. there was only one bollywood couple that actually worked.. SRK and Kajol.. and now they are next .. good job :)

I'm not Indian and have only seen, at most, around 50 Indian/Bollywood movies, but this one is one of a few I've seen that stand out. I don't know why it wasn't successful; I found it quite moving, and the music is absolutely brilliant. Characters and relationships are given themes early on, these are then woven together in subsequent songs for great effect. The vocal performances and choreography are great. If you get a chance to see it, I recommend it.

I have a really special relation with this play, it was our school's literary evening and our class[as usual] decided at the last moment that we have to do something for it. Believe me, there were two days left to the event we decided to do laila majnu. In one evening we edited the play to 4:07 mins and prepared the performance than showed it to our admin, it not only got selected, but was also THE best at the event. Whenever I watch this the memories come flooding back to me!
