There's a difference between admitting you're racist and saying something racist, and whether or not you think his comments are racist, I personally don't, is your own opinion. No he is right. Obama is African American. He is part Kenyan (his father's contribution) and part American (his mother). Why try to say that he comprises some other race? Black (in America) generally means west African heritage mixed with some European (primarily Anglo-Saxon protestant) heritage. There is little in the way of evidence to conclude that Obama would fit that paradigm.

As a black person who has often been accused of "acting white", I have to say that white isn't a mannerism. And race is a social construct that doesn't mean anything genetically. So a mixed person like Obama, simply is not white and is therefor called black.

While I can agree that unions do overcharge and are known for knocking non-union bidders out of the deals, it still insures that well trained tradesmen are doing the jobs. Take the electrician's union for example. 4 - 5 years of schooling around 144 hours each year and some 2000 or so hours of on the job training each year of the apprenticeship program. They pay union dues to help out the next guy who needs schooling, etc.

There's a difference between admitting you're racist and saying something racist, and whether or not you think his comments are racist, I personally don't, is your own opinion. Admitting you're racist would be saying something like "I don't like black people" or "I don't like mexicans". Something along those lines.... Very misleading title.

Half black was fully black as far as slave holders were concerned. 1/8th black was likely still considered "black" by slave owners and/or Jim Crow southerners. This whole racism things is getting ridiculous. Are there any traits that seem to align with a certain race? Blacks seem to be better at certain sports, i.e. the NBA and NFL are predominantly black organizations. Or perhaps that Asians seem to work harder academically. I.e. ACT scores for Asians are higher than ACT scores for every other race at the SAME Universities. Are these racist statements? Is possessing white mannerisms necessarily a good thing?

No he is right. Obama is African American. He is part Kenyan (his father's contribution) and part American (his mother). Why try to say that he comprises some other race? Black (in America) generally means west African heritage mixed with some European (primarily Anglo-Saxon protestant) heritage. There is little in the way of evidence to conclude that Obama would fit that paradigm.
