Nice video and great taste in music as well! I am about to maiden my ASW28 2.53M glider. I got 3.5lbs for an all up weight using an E-Flite power 15 motor, Graupner 11-8 folding prop, 40 amp E-Flite pro speed controller, AR5000 receiver and a 3s1p 2200mah 20C battery. I did replace the steel 8mm rod that came with the kit with a carbon fiber one.
Hello, I changed the original wing joiner. I use a carbon one => 200 g less !
For elevator I use a very small and light servo. I also changed the elevator (I mean the moving part of it) and the rudder because the wood included in the kit was very heavy ! At least I reduced the weight of the elevator (the fix part) by removing wood that were not necessary. At the end you should be able to reduced the global weight and get around 2 kg and 2,1kg. Good luck !
I choose a 540W Dymond motor (AL-3542 COMBO with a 60A controler). I put a 9x5 folding propeller and add 2 lipos battery from easymodel (25C - 3S1P - 1300mAmp). I already made some test of comsuption : I'm around 400 / 450 W.
Hey Julien, It,s great for me that you will answer my questions. Did you use the steel wing joiner or did you use a carbon one of 8mm And didn,t you worry about the weight at it,s first flight. I know some one he was afraid to fly the asw 28 becaurse off the weight. Becaurse of that he did sell his asw28 again.How do you like this plane to fly? I know you can see this in your video. But i wanne know your experienses lazzy, fast ,hard to handle,slow in curves, You name it.

Hello,
ich also have this plane, but with it´s lipo and the richt center of gravity it weights 2,5 kg!!! The tail is so heavy.
I don´t dare to let it fly, I´m scared that it crashes when I want to start it. How did you get 2,1 kg? And do you only fly when it´s windy outside?
Best regards,
Thomas

Thanks a lot for your response. That means some work again, but when I see how fantastic your plane flys, it makes it worth.
Best regards
