EVen Hakka singers release albums n singles in Taiyu more than Hakka laguage. They tried to sell their albums in Hakka language, but it doesnt sells, so those with talent sings n release next album in Taiyu or Mandarin instead. Few buy Hakka albums in Taiwan, HK, Guangzhou or Malaysia. Cantonese albums sells many times better than Hakka albums in Taiwan !

Definitely. Meixian/Moiyen Hakka is my first language, although my English is actually better these days. What you hear on this song is very slightly different cos it's got a bit of a Malaysian twang to it but I can still understand it. In Taiwan it'll be slightly different again but its definitely Meixian Hakka. Go to the New Territories in Hong Kong (especially Sai Kung or Tai Po areas) and you'll hear a lot of the old folks speaking it.
Although I am not a Hakka, what I know is that in Taiwan, two versions of Hakka dialects exist. One is called Meixian (Moi-yan) Hakka, which is considered by all Hakkas as the standardized Hakka. The other one is Hailu Hakka, which is somewhat influenced by Southern Min dialect (Amoy/Xiamen dialect). Listening to this song, it seemed he was singing in Hailu Hakka.
