What a lot of people fail to remember is that Germany was in a terrible depression before Hitler's rise to power. Money was nigh worthless and people were spiritually crushed by the result of WWI and the Versailles Treaty. In that kind of reality, people are easily led astray.
Not so much spiritually crushed as feeling incredibly betrayed. Soldiers came home from the front with tales of victory. The german military overall won more battles. Surrender seemed like a betrayal because they couldn't see the economic toll it was taking, the Kaiser's regime was well past bankrupt. The $ toll didn't appear for the average person until after Versailles.
true, gijoey777, but were the results *again* worth the cost...? I have my doubts with these parts of history... was it all really needed? all the deaths, all the damage?
To clarify, in no way what happened after WWI and the Versailles Treaty justified what Hitler and his followers did. I was merely saying that in desperate times, people can do terrible things to one another. "All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing."
@GIJOEY777 yeah, you're right. And I did not say anything else than what you just said. But again, why...? Why did it all happen? Eh, no use crying over spilt milk I suppose.
true, but you could also think of it this way(not to be selfish but)-would you rather germany be in great depression, or for a world-wide massacre to rear it's ugly head? i guess in a way it depends on where you live, but in truth, it doesn't matter. the answer's still obvious
That isn't the point. I'm not saying Germany had an excuse to start a world war or that such a war was justified. What I mean to say is that the reason why Hitler's ascent to power was so fluid was that he offered false hope to a badly injured people. If someone is hungry and cold and depressed and someone suddenly appeared out of the woodwork with food, shelter and hope, they aren't going to ask questions.
Fighting against a tyranny which starves a whole nation, is not being led astray, it is being led back to the light. They did the same to the Germans.

Lets remember, that the concentration camps were not upheld or governed by the Waffen-SS, but the SS special detachments.
Okay I appreciate your agreement, but Erwin Rommel never led a SS-formation. Rommels panzer division during the invasion of france was the 7th PzDiv, also known as the Ghost Division. It was not an SS-unit, but a Heer unit. When he was in command of the Afrika Korps, there werent any SS-units under his command in Africa. The 9th and 10th SS-divisions were under his control briefly in Italy as part of the Army Group B, but his relations with the Waffen-SS were minimal.

one thing that i find quite wierd is that like everyone is hating hitler for given the orders to "exterminate" the jews when the christians slaughtered millions of Muslims, pagan Slavs, Jews, Russian and Greek Orthodox Christians, Mongols, Cathars, Hussites, Waldensians at the old crusades.
but it might be easier to be forgiven when you kill in the name of god XD
I take exception to your comment. The Popes and their rabid followers perpetrated the Crusades and Pogroms and Serbian Murders and it is quite well known that Hitler was their boy and he ran the SS and SA as a Jesuit General would saying "that was the best example of how to run an army". Catholics are not Christian. I repeat, Catholics are not Christians. They are pagan idolaters who masquerade as Christians, no marvel, Satan himself appears as an angel of light.
The only reason you find so many anti-Nazi sentiments on this video's comments section is because it's an anti-Nazi video. No one is going to come here and start raving about Catholics. Go to an anti-Catholic crusades video and you'll find comments against Catholicism.
Many people have made that comparison before and many people agree with you, including me. The difference is that the events surrounding Nazi Germany were in modern times. People are still alive from that time. The wounds are still open.
I'm sure that, in time, another horrible atrocity will rise up to take its place. History shows us that this is a reoccurring theme.
Honestly, the Nazis were arguably the most powerful and advanced nation in the war. Missles, combined arm tactics, ICBMs, cruise missles, 100% electric submarines, the assualt rifle and more, all of which is used by the majority of the modern world. And there's a whole slew of industrial, agricultural, and architectural advancements. For example, they developed ways to make bread, cheese, and milk twice as fast, as well as developing synthetic oil and gas.
@TheKillerCobra It was more the fact that they put loads of money on research that gave them the outstanding technology. And they have the coolest uniforms ever..
my mother's family is German and it was scary as hell to be a German civilian during WW2. People were getting "disappeared" all the time, the Nazi Party leaders, the Gestapo, and the SS were the truly evil, everyone else was either scared to resist or didn't know. Hell, they killed Rommel, he treated prisoners humanely and ignored orders to exterminate Jews. He was fighting for the Fatherland, not the Nazi ideal. He was nationalistic (not fascist) & there's absolutely nothing wrong with that.
I am a World War 2 reanactor in the German Wermacht. I dont beleive in what the nazis beleive in, I just like the German technology and uniforms in WW2! Sabaton is awsome!
First of, good video and awesome music :) And before i say anything else, i hate what nazis did to people and how they did it.
But i can respect that they wanted a strong society were all were united. And their War machine Was strong, as they actulla managed to control almost entire europe.
A society with their ideas, but more soft, and were all were equels, could very muth work.
but sadly they were evil massmurders, atleast some of them, most just fell in line.
fuck off you fascist bastard! Nazi's were murderers. Just ask the thousands of survivors of the consintration camps dumb fuck. You can take your Sieg Heil and shove it up your ass nazi bastard!
I agree with you curlydonkey, the nazis were a gang of evil murderers, but one have to agree that their weapons, machines, technology and dicipline, as well as leadership was impressive.
i know that most people don't agree with me, but i think if you forget about all the genocide, Nazi germany was actually pretty cool. I'm against fascism, but they created jet tech, and were the only ones to occupy most a europe. thats impressive.
@curlydonkey i think the same as you hitler was a aweful human being but he facinates me how he could rebuild a lost country and military its real impresive how he created such a military and how he conquerd europr
@curlydonkey i understand ur point and i too are against fascism and i do think it is impressive but takeing most of Europe has its back fires. u get rebeling, man slaughter tht wasnt commanded, messing with someone stronger and the last is being drove back
@curlydonkey Actually the Nazis would be cool,if they hadnt killed Judes and others. Many have just heard to much of Allied sh*t propaganda about that Germany was then pure evil.
@curlydonkey As a matter of fact the jet was already being experimented with by many other countries, but nobody saw a need for it. So only Germany ever actually used one in the military.
@FatalityWar In the end of war Germans used few jet ones, but too late to change the tide of the war. Messerschmitt Me 262 was one of them. Germans made some helicopters even before the war (Focke-Wulf Fw 61).
Actually there was no genocide, if you would like to talk about it calmly and civilly and ask me any questions about it, I would gladly talk and try to answer some of the lies we have been told for 60 years. Alternatively you can go to the institute for historical review website and dig out the facts there.
Also fascism is simply the tribal system of meritocracy adapted to the nation state and 20th century. It is probably a lot freer than the illusion of freedom we think we have.
If I support and try to state facts about fascism and Nazism, then because of 60 years of lies, I am going to be unpopular, especially as people in general do not like to draw unpopular attention to themselves, so many ppl are afraid to be courageous and be unpopular. I am not afraid to be unpopular, I prefer that truth and light is shown upon things.
ints interesting how the only thing that stops this song from being on hitlers side is the title rise of evil, rise of the reich would have given it a total other meaning
this song is about the rise of hitler and the third reich. if your going to comment a video and question about the song on the video look it up before u do
Lol I checked out HammerFall's song, and man, what does that have to do with this song? xD It was OK but I didn't see the point of mentioning it on here.
Well, talking about this video, you've made a really good job KillerCobra, congratulations man, 5 stars for you!!
the song is about Hitlers rise to power, the rise of evil. the main undertone is that evil triumphs if good man does nothing. wat is it you don´t understan?
Great song, very well composed video. On the matter of the SS troopers. Do not think that merely those in the camps were monsters. The Einzatsgruppe had elements from Waffen SS aswell (Yes I know that they were mostly comprised of both the Gestapo and "Krimpolizei" or what they were called but still.) The only thing more sad then the fact that sutch a person gained sutch power is that the allies stood idealy bye far to long, and then gave half of europe to the USSR. Once again, great vid!
First of all, Im going to see Sabaton live quite soon.
It's scay how far one can go with propaganda, alot of shit is going on around the world now that can be compared to the reich, in sweden there is at the moment a fierce debate about the so called "FRA-law" which will allow a military institution to monitor all communication traffic passing the swedish borders. Also remember that the communists of sovjet-russia killed alot more people than the nazis.
My grandfather told me that when he was young and lived in our cabin, he could hear when the nazis shot with their haubits cannons in Norway. The cabin is in Northern Värmland, Sweden. He also got two or three empty bullets from an haubits that was used in Norway. They're used as ashtrays nowadays:D
america might end up like this pretty soon with all the taxes and low pay and illegal immigrants and the people getting brain washed propaganda gonna go in the great depression 2 aka the great slump
the german war machine was one of the best the word has see. All it's soldiers have my deepest respect. Most were just fighting for their loved ones and country like any of us would do. It was Hitler and the political system that ruined the world and causes so many to die. So many brave soldiers fell for a mans sick ideas.
Its true what you say, they fought for the love of their nation, like all other nations during WWII. Blame the leader and not the soldiers at the front.
Waffen SS was the wery elite of the german army, its Himmler that made the SS to the monsters they were called, SS soldietrs on the front didnt like what the ones in the concentration camps did to the jews and all others inprisoned.
Yes, I'm sorry. I meant all of these murderers under direct Heydrich or Himmler's command. By the way I'm proud that Czech paratroopers assassinated Heydrich even it led to extermination of Lidice. I hope I used the right words in this sentence... xD
Well I do not know ingvomi. I am a Czech and I cannot say that I am proud. It is one of the controversal questions. Do you really think that taking a life of one filthy Nazi was worth the lives of hundreds innocent people?
Yes, it's very controversal, as you said. The prize was really, really horrible, but I think that the assassination shown the whole world and Czech people too that we're not totally defeated nation. That we can fight not only upon England, but in our homeland too. That's only my opinion and I respect yours.
Ja. The Waffen SS were the super soldiers of the WWII era. They were amazing in battle. Too bad that the ones in the concentration camps gave the rest of them a bad name.
Isnt it this v=VSdC1VQY4rs exactly the same video? At keast the far I have seen of it.I wonder why I see exactly the same videos upload more than once and with different users. Well, eh
Agreed on both points. At the onset of WWII, the german soldier was the best trained fighting man in Europe, and I think the best equiped as well. Not sure on that part though.
Hitler was an outstanding politician and and so-so military leader. His biggest (and maybe his only) in the WWII was that we became greedy. While fighting England he attacked the Soviet-union.
His greed became the early fall of the third reich
I think a war with the Soviets was ineviteble, one way or another. However, if Germany hadn't botherd about all that racial supremacy shit and instead capitalised on the fact that in many parts of eastern europe they were initially seen as liberators from Stalin, they could have had massive support from Ukrainians and the like.
I know, we just talked about the same thing happening in the first World War in my history class. During that war, the Poles saw the Germans as liberators from the oppressive Tsar. If Hitler hadn't been such a racial bigot, and general idiot, then the world would probably look much different today. Thankfully for us, he was a moron when it came to military strategy.
Okay one key aspect that shows this is against nazi's is how the title is with the vidoe. The title is "Rise of evil". If you were in a nazi's shoes you wouldnt consider yourself evil...If the title said like rise of power or something then it may be supporting nazis
Carandini: Well im not from a English speaking country, so you should expect grammatical errors, 2nd I was going on facts from Hitler: "Hitler: The rise of Evil" movie on the number of non-Jews that was killed by the nazis.
Killer Cobra, not to sound patronizing or anything, but your message at the end of the video needs to be cleaned up. With such a profound and important point to make, grammatical errors come across as almost, well, sacreligious. Also, your figure on non-Jews slaughtered in the death camps is off, it was much closer to 2 million than 1 million. Minor quibble.
Still, they were swatted like flies in WWII. But that was probably because they had both the allied forces and the Soviet union agianst them, forcing them to protect both sides with reduced efficiency compared to war with just one country.
Where is the other one that was meant to support nazi's then?

The history is written by the victors.
And for some reason, they picked Germany as the main scapegoat.
Evil and good are relative. The victorius is good, the looser is evil in war.
I am sure if the Soviet Union or the Nazi Germany won the wars, we would be hearing music about the "evil USA".
Lucky for us, the least bloodthirsty faction won.

No worries TheKillerCobra, the song's title is enough proof that this video doesn't support those nazi pigs.

my mother's family is German and it was scary as hell to be a German civilian during WW2.

That's why Sabaton honored him with Ghost Division, an excellent song.

I agree with you curlydonkey, the nazis were a gang of evil murderers, but one have to agree that their weapons, machines, technology and dicipline, as well as leadership was impressive.
MattiasE135 2 years ago
i know that most people don't agree with me, but i think if you forget about all the genocide, Nazi germany was actually pretty cool. I'm against fascism, but they created jet tech, and were the only ones to occupy most a europe. thats impressive.

I think they where inovative and thought outside the box and the result is inventions we use in modern day.

SweepyWolf 1 year ago
@curlydonkey Actually the Nazis would be cool,if they hadnt killed Judes and others. Many have just heard to much of Allied sh*t propaganda about that Germany was then pure evil.
Diablotion 1 year ago
@curlydonkey As a matter of fact the jet was already being experimented with by many other countries, but nobody saw a need for it. So only Germany ever actually used one in the military.
FatalityWar 11 months ago
@FatalityWar In the end of war Germans used few jet ones, but too late to change the tide of the war. Messerschmitt Me 262 was one of them. Germans made some helicopters even before the war (Focke-Wulf Fw 61).
Diablotion 10 months ago
@curlydonkey
CeltzKrieg 10 months ago
@curlydonkey
CeltzKrieg 10 months ago
@CeltzKrieg Well, hitler was popular. People chose hilter.

i dont get it, why make a movie like this one?
Vonlidl1337 3 years ago
Why not?
sigon99 3 years ago
Why make this movie? To be honest I'd guess its for these three reasons:
1. Sabatons songs have many fans but no official videos.
2. The song IS about Hitlers rise to power.
3. TheKillerCobra wants to promote a anti-nazi oppinion/clip which I think is great that he does!
The quote by Edmund Burke is great. 5/5 Cobra :)

the song is about Hitlers rise to power, the rise of evil. the main undertone is that evil triumphs if good man does nothing. wat is it you don´t understan?

Great song, very well composed video. On the matter of the SS troopers. Do not think that merely those in the camps were monsters. The Einzatsgruppe had elements from Waffen SS aswell (Yes I know that they were mostly comprised of both the Gestapo and "Krimpolizei" or what they were called but still.) The only thing more sad then the fact that sutch a person gained sutch power is that the allies stood idealy bye far to long, and then gave half of europe to the USSR. Once again, great vid!

PS, LunerianNoLife. Were are you going to see them? Im gonna see sabaton in KB in malmö in October ^^
MFFare1985 3 years ago
First of all, Im going to see Sabaton live quite soon.
It's scay how far one can go with propaganda, alot of shit is going on around the world now that can be compared to the reich, in sweden there is at the moment a fierce debate about the so called "FRA-law" which will allow a military institution to monitor all communication traffic passing the swedish borders. Also remember that the communists of sovjet-russia killed alot more people than the nazis.
LunerianNoLife 3 years ago 5

My grandfather told me that when he was young and lived in our cabin, he could hear when the nazis shot with their haubits cannons in Norway. The cabin is in Northern Värmland, Sweden. He also got two or three empty bullets from an haubits that was used in Norway. They're used as ashtrays nowadays:D

the german war machine was one of the best the word has see. All it's soldiers have my deepest respect. Most were just fighting for their loved ones and country like any of us would do. It was Hitler and the political system that ruined the world and causes so many to die. So many brave soldiers fell for a mans sick ideas.
VodkaAce 3 years ago 7
Its true what you say, they fought for the love of their nation, like all other nations during WWII. Blame the leader and not the soldiers at the front.
TheKillerCobra 3 years ago
Except Waffen SS, of course...
ingvomi 3 years ago
Waffen SS was the wery elite of the german army, its Himmler that made the SS to the monsters they were called, SS soldietrs on the front didnt like what the ones in the concentration camps did to the jews and all others inprisoned.
TheKillerCobra 3 years ago
Yes, I'm sorry. I meant all of these murderers under direct Heydrich or Himmler's command. By the way I'm proud that Czech paratroopers assassinated Heydrich even it led to extermination of Lidice. I hope I used the right words in this sentence... xD
ingvomi 3 years ago
Well I do not know ingvomi. I am a Czech and I cannot say that I am proud. It is one of the controversal questions. Do you really think that taking a life of one filthy Nazi was worth the lives of hundreds innocent people?
maledikt 3 years ago
Yes, it's very controversal, as you said. The prize was really, really horrible, but I think that the assassination shown the whole world and Czech people too that we're not totally defeated nation. That we can fight not only upon England, but in our homeland too. That's only my opinion and I respect yours.
ingvomi 3 years ago
Ja. The Waffen SS were the super soldiers of the WWII era. They were amazing in battle. Too bad that the ones in the concentration camps gave the rest of them a bad name.

Amen to that..

I think a war with the Soviets was ineviteble, one way or another. However, if Germany hadn't botherd about all that racial supremacy shit and instead capitalised on the fact that in many parts of eastern europe they were initially seen as liberators from Stalin, they could have had massive support from Ukrainians and the like.
meanmanturbo 4 years ago 3
I know, we just talked about the same thing happening in the first World War in my history class. During that war, the Poles saw the Germans as liberators from the oppressive Tsar. If Hitler hadn't been such a racial bigot, and general idiot, then the world would probably look much different today. Thankfully for us, he was a moron when it came to military strategy.

Okay one key aspect that shows this is against nazi's is how the title is with the vidoe. The title is "Rise of evil". If you were in a nazi's shoes you wouldnt consider yourself evil...If the title said like rise of power or something then it may be supporting nazis
KWENSHIN 4 years ago 3

It´s so interesting to see how 1930s III Reich videos fits so well with new millenium metal music.

Carandini: Well im not from a English speaking country, so you should expect grammatical errors, 2nd I was going on facts from Hitler: "Hitler: The rise of Evil" movie on the number of non-Jews that was killed by the nazis.
TheKillerCobra 4 years ago
Killer Cobra, not to sound patronizing or anything, but your message at the end of the video needs to be cleaned up. With such a profound and important point to make, grammatical errors come across as almost, well, sacreligious. Also, your figure on non-Jews slaughtered in the death camps is off, it was much closer to 2 million than 1 million. Minor quibble.

Still, they were swatted like flies in WWII. But that was probably because they had both the allied forces and the Soviet union agianst them, forcing them to protect both sides with reduced efficiency compared to war with just one country.
