The chaos player could have done alot better from what I've seen. He didn't use horror squads enough and there were many situations where a sorcerer could have turned the tide. Then they needed to upgrade their marines more with better weaponry, because the original guns suck. It looks like a good heavy bolter squad could have provided alot better support for his lord and melee units.

It's never an easy task for an IG player to defeat a Chaos player in 1v1 since IG lack in tech speed and infantry compared to Chaos so rather than get all these commisars and infantry upgrades it's better to gamble and try to get some hellhounds sneaky in their base and try to bring it down so when the Chaos retreat to protect the base you can upgrade your infantry move it to the base and overrun them ;)

IG need "Critical Mass." Once you have about 4-5 squads of IG, at 13, with full upgrades, and a hero for each, there is basically nothing in the game that can reach them (Infantry wise.) I always thought the IG were actually really weak at killing vehicles.

The real strength of the Imperial Guard is not with their infantry, but with with their artillery, and proper coordination with armor support.  From my impression from watching the IG on youtube, the IG focuses on armor and artillery. The infantry is mainly support and is the backbone of the IG with their mass numbers.

By the way, does IG have heavy machine gun and mortar crews like they do in the board game? They look useful.

Your computer is locking, probably not the game. Three things: Run Disk cleanup, and check all the boxes. go to start, program files, accessories, system tools, disk cleanup. Run that. Then run disk defragmenter after it finishes. Now run windows update. Select custom when it asks, then do all updates. Then download CCleaner, run it on your files and registry. Back up any important files first so you don't end up out of luck if you accidentally delete a key. Install, Defrag, good luck.

As for me,i would out squad em and use as melee meat shields 2 full gm(with or without sarge) squads with attached priest and 3 member command squad and a spare priest knocking the buggers around and keeping them them away from the 3 gm squads with plasmas + commissar executing away.

Try getting some Chimeras while you sacrifice some GM squads to tie up the berserkers. The Chimeras fire fast enough to be good anti-infantry vehicles and can be gotten right away.

Or you could just get 2 psykers in your command squad and throw them into the zerkers, because psykers do great disruption and thus lots of free shots for your ranged firepower.
