  • Excellent, Joe. Two thumbs up! I'm a new fan of yours.

    peace,

    Tim

  • @chessdude67 Oh, thank you, Tim! I so appreciate it. And coming from a talented guy like you is a real compliment. Take care and "Peace!" indeed! (:~)

  • brilliantly done. my favorite passage in all literature. your vocal performance combined with the atmospheric use of wind and darkness sets the tone perfectly for the chilling tale about to be told. you captured it better than any audio book version i've ever heard. highly recommend the silent movie version by the H.P. Lovecraft Historical Society if you haven't seen it yet.

  • Thank you so much! Your comment is high praise indeed and means so much to me! I am an aspiring voice actor and am working on my own audio dramas. I love this passage as you do, and I wanted to do it justice. I have seen the magnificent silent movie adaptation of "Call of Cthulhu" - worth buying! Please take care and stay in touch! Be well...

  • I cant say Cthulu but I have tried to say it 1000 times :P

so I just say Cutuluck :P

thats is the best way fore me to say it :P

  • ker-too-loo

  • The master himself would feel honored.

  • Wow... Thank you so much!

  • You have the best voice ever!! This is the kind of voice people get paid millions of dollars for to open a dramatic movie.

I hope you get discovered because you have an amazing talent!

  • My Goodness... You lift my spirits, sweet Giselle! I hope some Hollywood big shot reads your great comment and offers me a high-paying shot at the big time! LOL! Thank you, Giselle!

  • brilliant!

  • Thank you, Winston! I really appreciate it!

  • Wow. Beautifully presented. The production and effects of this video really add to the atmosphere. I'm glad I checked this video out, as I hadn't heard of the book, though I have heard of the name Cthulhu. Seems we share yet another interest; Disney, Shakespeare, and the occult. Whatever next!

  • Thank you so much! Yeah, I had to give this reading a little more than just a black screen. Lovecraft has to be done right. I highly recommend his story, The Call of Cthulhu. As far as other interests, how about Edgar Allen Poe, Orson Welles, movie scores, Ancient Egypt and girls in thongs? HA! Be well!

  • thats was quite hypnotic.. your voice is good as is the effect :)

  • Thank you so much. I really appreciate your comment! Take care and be well...

  • your welcome :) hope your ok xxx

  • Thank you for your concern. I am okay, could be better. You take care of yourself, okay? XOXO!

  • Oh, I'm so sorry to hear about the accident! Please get better. Be well! XOXO

  • Joe-Master of Sound!! I loved your voice and the wind in the background really sets the tone! Btw- I heard they made this into a movie.. or maybe I'm just making things up x.x

  • Sweetie! Thank you so much! Check your YouTube mail... (;~)

  • Just like the 5-Star rating is called - Awesome!

  • Thank you all for the comment and rating! Thank you!

  • Ohhhhhhhhh Joe! I got the goosebumps!! I love the wind sound behind you. Really cool!

  • My Muse, Sweet Lady! Thank you for your comment. THAT'S what I want to hear! This piece ( the opening of H.P. Lovecraft's signature work - The Call of Cthulhu ) is one of the most unsettling pieces of prose ever written. I wanted to instill a sense of dread, isolation and emptiness in the viewer - hence, why I decided to add the wind. As always, you bring a smile to my face. Thank you again, Molly! XOXO!

  • I enjoyed this. Although you could've just said..."Don't vote Republican."

  • HA! Thank you! One of the BEST comments I have ever received! Take care and be well!

  • Great work!

Maybe just a little drawn out (my opinion)

The image of your face, just off center and in the shadows, was very arresting too, and fit well with the story!

  • Thank you for the comment. As for it being "a little drawn out," that was deliberate; I wanted the viewer to be held by the unsettling and foreboding words Lovecraft wrote. As Orson Welles might put it, the "power of dramatic pause..." But, timing is indeed everything. So, thank you for the criticism. Take care and be well.
