  • I think Bushman Bill should ease up on the coffee, don't you think?

  • @KingSlifer: I think he needs to get his haired groomed, shave his mustache, and definetly ease down on the cafeene. :P

  • Whoa, whoa! Slow down, Bushman Bill! The song's got some great groove, but Bushman Bill talks a little too fast. Still, I think he's pretty funny.

How can Brian Muehl talk that fast?!

  • Did Jim Henson ever used a female voice for his characters?

  • Every so often.

  • Bushman Bill looks a bit like Frank Zappa!

  • Heh, they forgot to put the needle on the record :P

  • It looks like it was already on the record before he turned it on.

  • I remember this song. Although Busmen Bill can be loud as Animal (The Muppet Character).

  • the "Be my D" song and the actual record itself don't even match. the record looks that of a 70's period goup during the time this clip was recorded. (obviously)

  • Well they obviously most likely just grabbed whatever LPs were nearby and used those

  • Considering how she's often performing singing Muppets, I wouldn't be surprised if one of them was performed by Marilyn Sokol.

  • Is bushman bill supposed to be Howard STern?

I LOVED this and forgot it existed! more love for sawing!

  • Wow I remember this from the 80s but I know it's older when I was little I was like oh, that's what the 70s were like lol ^^

  • Great song... the only thing that would make it better would be if it were sung in the key of D (they sing it in G)... >_>

  • It wasn't just the voice that scared me, it was also the bushy hair for some reason. Probably because that was his only cameo and I wasn't used to him.

  • Out of the three muppets, the purple Anything muppet is the only muppet who is holding both of her hands up where it can be seen easily (The lavendar muppet is holding up her left hand in the middle of the song too but, it can't be seen easily).

  • What's this a parody of?

  • now back to your regulary sechlduled kiddy show! LOL!

  • I remember this from when I was a kid! I think it's from the very early 1980s, though. Pretty funny they just used whatever LP they could find for the Bushman Bill's records!

  • Nice!!

Sesame Street disco always puts me in a groove! -_-

  • One of my favourite most of my b/f names began with D :D

  • Thank you, I was looking for this

  • D D D D doo-wa doo-wa!!!!

  • Two things:

1: Since people say that Brian Muehl's voice for Bushman Bill was too scary, sometimes I wonder "Why couldn't they have Jim Henson, Frank Oz, Jerry Nelson or Richard Hunt perform Bushman Bill?".

2: Of the 3 female muppets singing the song, my favorite one is the purple Anything Muppet. I liked her long black hair.

  • The purple muppet was also my favorite one. I also liked her long black hair. She also has a very nice singing voice.

  • Well, not everyone found his voice scary. And scary or not, I think the voice fit his image perfectly, and anyway, everyone deserves a chance.

I don't have a favorite of the singers, but one thing I can't help observing is that it is never indicated which one is Didi O'Day.

  • That's a good point. It is unknown who Didi O'Day is. Unless, none of the three muppets are named Didi O'Day where "Didi' O'Day And The Dew Drops" is just the name the three of them picked for their singing group without any one of them named as Didi O'Day.

  • That seems pretty unlikely to me. I don't know of any group like that. I'm guessing Didi is probably the Fat Blue one, since she's in the middle.

  • Way to use the word depressed, on sesame street lol! One of the happiest shows on earth.

  • I think the Supremes served as inspiration for the creation of these singers!

  • I remember this a little bit. Must have been in the seventies.

  • tpirman1982 i saw it clearly and that was a nice call and obviously the camera guy didn't catch that?..o.k.

  • I was hoping someone would upload this. I couldn't remember the DJ's name, but he never

scared me or gave me nightmares as a kid.

  • I was hoping someone would upload this. I couldn't remember the DJ's name, but Bushman Bill never scared me or gave me nightmares.

  • I noticed one blooper at the 0:47 mark: Just before the lavender muppet starts to sing "When you're near me..."), her earring falls off her right ear.

  • youre right that was funny!!

  • It sure does. Oh well. These things happen. She has a nice voice, by the way. Anyone know who performs it?

  • Bill Bushman scares the crap out of me. Especially after when he says "Now, back to your regular schedule kiddy show!" He starts looking at the camera. EEEEEEEEEEEE!

  • I agree. I used to be scared of this too. As soon as he said "Now back to your regular kiddy show" at the end and then looked at the camera with his mouth wide open I would be very scared. Sometimes I would close my eyes as soon as the "Be My D" song would end, and sometimes I would listen to him saying the line and watch him open his mouth widely while peeking a little bit under a blanket.

  • Bushman Bill gave me nightmares as a kid too!

  • I've been waiting to here this one again. Thank You.

  • who does bushmanbill's voice and the singers too?

  • All I know is that Bushman Bill's voice was performed by Brian Muehl. Anyone know who performed the singers' voices?

  • Bill is Brian Muehl, but I don't know about the other singers.

Whether Bushman Bill scared people or not, I think we can all agree that the song is nice and catchy.

  • Ditto! "Be My D" rocks!

  • I don't off hand recall seeing this as a youngster, though I've learned not to be too sure of anything. I can't really say for sure whether Bushman Bill would have scared me or not.

  • Another scary SS moment lived down, about three more to go!

  • Geesh, how long has it been since I've seen this? Thanks for the upload!

  • Bushman Bill also scared the crap outta me as a kid too.

  • Brian Muehl's voice may have been a bit creepy, but I give this 5-stars!

  • This used to scare me too, G man.

  • me too.

  • Another clip I'm sure the fans out there have missed...thanks!

  • You rock! You seriously rock!I haven't seen this in years. And Bushman Bill is really crazy.
