  • is the spectralert strobe only?

  • @Coolster8000 yes it is.

  • what was that buzzing noise at 0:38?

  • @hyperbaricchicken101 its the reset on the panel and some panels have a ticking sound

idk what the ticking is if it came from the panel

  • We have these in our dorm building, loud as fuck

  • neat

  • LOL when I turned on my speakers I kep the volume all the way down and could still hear it clearly!

  • Thats a voice evac messgage, and those are recordings.

  • the only thing that i really dont like about fire alarms is that they're loud and scare the fuck outta you. i remember in orchestra class, we had just started playing a section of a piece and the alarm went off on beat 3 of the second measure. the student teacher and everyone else in the room jumped, they were so startled.

  • Wow, man. When they go off when we're playing in band, everyone just stops playing. lol

  • when it goes off in our band, i usually blast almost the same note as the fire alarm and freak everyone out lol

  • I can't get that high on my clarinet. lol

  • What do you play?

  • trumpet fool lol

  • Cool. You are fool lol. I play a bari sax.

  • u should keep playing

  • I do.

  • Well, thats what there supposed to do.If they werent, they wouldnt be fire alarms.

  • horn

  • That is the one we have at school. It is SO loud!

  • That's my baby Spectralert!

  • what pull station and panel?

  • Simplex T-Bar And Simplex 4001 I Think.

  • I think we have the same one in our residence, maybe not that model but it makes that tone

  • after a little bit it actually sounds like a spectralert

  • it sounds like a truealert

  • The MIZ sounds simular to spectralerts

  • That's because it's the same horn.

  • Really?

  • Yep! That same horn is shared by System Sensor smokes, SpectrAlerts and PA400s. Wheelock also uses it for the MIZ, and it can be found in all BRK and First Alert smoke alarms. That's because the horn is made by a company that distributes it to these specific companies.

  • Well I have a PA400W and it doesnt sound like the MIZ yet its the same exact horn lol

  • That is because with the "screechy" sounding tones (like the Spectra in Electromech. or the MIZ-24-S) power is not continuously applied. I haven't checked this theory, but I think that power is switched on and off very quickly to give it a rougher sound.

Also, the non-codeable MIZ-24 uses the same exact horn as the MIZ-24-S, but my theory is an explanation of how they sound different.

  • True

  • willbill - Have you portained the 3.4 MIX Darton?

  • @weatherdan882002 Erm, no. The MIZ is made by Cooper Wheelock, and the Spectralert series is made by System Sensor.

  • cool!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    looks good

  • And thank you again for helping it look good!

  • lol i finaly got around to replying lol

    no problem

  • Is the MIZ loud?

  • Normally it would be, but I have duct tape over the horn on the inside, so it's just the right volume. But to answer your question, normally it'd be 87dB...

  • Oh, 87db is not that loud.

  • How loud do you think it is now?

  • great video and 5 star too!

  • What was the strobe set to and nice vid ;)

  • 110cd, as always...

  • Oh.
