My job with ACN is to referrer people to services that you use everyday like Verizon Wireless, ATNT, Sprint, T-Mobile, Nextel, ADT Security, Direct TV, and Dish Network. Lets do some numbers here: 83 million people in the workforce in the U.S. of which only 12% make over 64,000 dollars a year. Of that only 3% make over 120,000 a year. That's roughly 2.5 million people that make over a 120,000 a year. How many of these 2.5 million people work for ACN? Not very likely a reasonable amount. MLM's only make money off of new blood.
If I criticise ACN and I havent tried it, pro-ACN people say "well how would you know then?"

It's true that most don't make much, but that goes for any business. The difference with ACN and other jobs, is that you work hard for a few years, and you'll never need to work again.

@edgovan23 Although the videophone is by no means perfect, most people I know love it. You can actually remove your local line and just use the video phone, so you don't end up paying much. Video mail is one of the best things about it, and call blasting which allows the call to be forwarded to your cellphone if your not home. I find a lot of people who aren't very computer literate, who don't use skype, benefit the most from the phone.
@Farago316 Can you stop giving success stories and actually provide data? I want to know the median figure for profit distribution throughout ALL ACN reps. There is no reason why ACN wouldnt provide this figure if it was good. And dont say "people dont try" with their business and therefore skew the statistics. Most people who go into business do try very hard, and 9 out of 10 fail in their first year. I feel very confident that far more ACN reps fail.
If I have to pay for my broadband, why would I want to pay for the ACN videophone service too? Surely it should be free between ACN phones, much like Skype is free between skype users. And YES there is a skype videophone.
Few people have ACN phones and you'll find it hard to convince somebody to change their provider in order to get one. Now with skype being free, and most people having a computer, it's not going to be hard to convince people to use it.

Also, u do not need to change providers to get an ACN phone, where did you get the information from? Also, the ACN phone, if not already, is going to be compatible with Iphones and other devices. It's also free to call any phone in US or Canada and has a lot of other advantages over skype.

@Farago316 No Skype To Skype phonecalls are TOTALLY free. And you CAN replace your landline with skype too!!! If you want a physical skype phone then it costs $245 but you dont have to pay for a plan. But then again you can if you want, and its going to cost you only about $12 a year.
Not to mention you dont need the phone, you could just use your computer with a webcam. CHOICES ARE GOOD. You can take your laptop abroad and use it and have your account usable by your family at home too!

If anything you've been ignoring the ones I've made. My entire argument is based on the fact you can remove your local landline for a Video phone which overall is better than your traditional ones. Even though skype doesn't offer all the features of the ACN's video phone, I am not directly attacking it and saying it's useless.

@edgovan23 I said it's easier if your rep, you don't have to be one. It's easy to to convince people to switch to a product if it's better and it's equal or less price to what they have. How can you say that "Skype is so universal and does everything ACN does + more" Can you call 911? Does it have Call Blasting so if you miss a call it' will call multiple cells? I wil repeat myself. Skype is newer than ACN and yet it is far more popular. Its been mentioned on TV, news, and films. Most media articles regarding ACN I can find (and there are VERY few) are negative. The only TV programme i've ever seen ACN on is The Apprentice and they had to pay trump to do it! LOL

If you have a laptop, then yeah I see skype being more portable. But not everyone has a laptop, and the Iris3000 weighs just 9 ounces, which is not difficult at all carry around if needed. And even when it's unplugged you can still receive video mail, and call blasting still works.

@edgovan23 ACN has been featured in success magazine, television enough times. But ACN purposely does not advertise to save millions. Everything spreads through word of mouth which is a slow but exponential process. This is how they're able to pay their reps.
@Farago316 If you choose not to get videophone to skype then it can still substitute as a local line. There are also normal non-videophones that cost as little as $20 and can connect directly to your router. You also have the ability to use multiple computers in your house for video

@edgovan23 Unless you have a video to prove that the quality of skype without a video phone comes even close to the qaulity of an ACN video phone, especially when talking to others in different countries, you can't compare the experience. There's even a video of the CEO of skype making a fool of himself on national television where the delay was ridiculous and kept the video kept freezing.

Lastly, as nice as skype is, the quality does not compare to an ACN video phone. The video phone simply has better audio, and better quality. Have you ever heard of QOS? QOS is your router setting called Quality of Service setting and it prioritizes your VOIP calls to use bandwidth first, getting rid fo the lag seen in Skype devices. This is why a true VOIP call is so superior to a computer based video call. I can talk to video phone users in the other side of the world with no delay.

it is a typical ACN response because it is a individual answer. ACN representatives do not look at the social structure, implications and consequences of ACN. I'm looking into the system of ACN. You're analyzing the individual. A typical person, such as yourself, says the person is not motivated, he did not do the right things, he did not do X,Y,Z correctly. Very typical. I'm being critical. I am sick of the whole "every business is a pyramid" line.
1) in a normal business, the person at the bottom gets paid a guarranteed living wage
2) in a normal business there is no emphasis on getting new recruits. People are also recruited in at all levels of the business, not just the bottom
3) in a normal business, the employees dont do all the work in finding people. People are employed to do a specific job, and occasionaly might have an input into the recruitment process
4) in a normal business, the company cares about who they hire, because they want to uphold the reputation of the company and also care about doing a good job and making profit

ACN is really it!!!
The only way to get money through this business (as a member) is if you sell the camera phone like crazy!! and that could take allot of time unless you're really good. I think this business will not last but hey, if you're broke and wanna make money, become a member and work hard at it! I in the other hand am really happy with my life and job and don't feel like wasting my time going to these seminars, meetings etc.

Another thing. Any time I get a comment, the ACN people are always rood, beligerant, name calling and crass. Obviously having an open discussion and maintaing some iota of respect for an opposing opinion is out of the question with ACN. Tells me a lot about its organization.
I was a member and got out as soon as I saw what the residual were all about. Level 1 through 3 are 1/4 %. Level 4 1/2, level 5 5%, level 6 7% and level 7 10%.
Based on the fact that anyone who is doing the selling themselves, you only get 1/4%, whcih is 25 cents per every $100, no one is going to go out and sell. The only residual income is on other members and maybe the 3 or 4 phones picked up by family and friends.
ACN bases the estimates on 20 sales per member, not even close to facts.
It's so very interesting that you left out some very important facts. When all levels are completed and all of your team has done their part it equals $11,000 a month. And thats a 20 customers a rep. And what makes you seem so silly is who would want to get paid the highest amount at the top when your organization is constantly growing past the first level. I'm glad that you got out. You obviously don't understand the compensation plan.
I fully understand the compensation plan. People selling the services, doing the actual selling, get 1/4%. There is no motivation to sell for 25 cents per $100. Therefor, no matter how many levels down, no one is selling. The only way to make $ is through recruiting, based on a less than honest presentation. Also, they never once showed the phone working, and when forced to do so, quality was poor, choppy and not lip synched. Thanks for the civil reply, though. All the best.

Thank you for clearing my thoughts. I went to an acn meeting in Ottawa Canada and they were pretty convincing but like you said. It's WAY too much work to get high up there and make money. Not worth it at all!

Nobody in MLM will admit that they are not making any money, because that would counter their efforts towards recruiting more no-money-making consultants, so that they might someday make some money off their efforts. It's brilliant! They pay no salary to a bunch of people who run around recruiting their own competition, so they can benefit on the work someone else does. Most MLM's are people who would screw their neighbor in the parking lot of a church to turn a quick buck.

Also...those averages are the mean figures. IE if 10 people earn $100 and the other earns $1,000,000 then the average is $91,000. But thats hardly a fair respresentation of what you would earn. The mode a far better test....and is an average by taking the most frequent number, which is $100.

Lets do some numbers here: 83 million people in the workforce in the U.S. of which only 12% make over 64,000 dollars a year. Of that only 3% make over 120,000 a year. That's roughly 2.5 million people that make over a 120,000 a year. How many of these 2.5 million people work for ACN? Not very likely a reasonable amount. MLM's only make money off of new blood.

@edgovan23 On the compensation plan it says "The average ACN Canada active Rep in 2008 earned over $500. Active Independent Reps are those that acquired at least one new customer during a year. ACN Reps are prohibited from making any claims of earnings other than the amounts provided above."
It's true that most don't make much, but that goes for any business. The difference with ACN and other jobs, is that you work hard for a few years, and you'll never need to work again.

@edgovan23 Although the videophone is by no means perfect, most people I know love it. You can actually remove your local line and just use the video phone, so you don't end up paying much. Video mail is one of the best things about it, and call blasting which allows the call to be forwarded to your cellphone if your not home. I find a lot of people who aren't very computer literate, who don't use skype, benefit the most from the phone.

There is no reason why ACN wouldnt provide this figure if it was good. And dont say "people dont try" with their business and therefore skew the statistics. Most people who go into business do try very hard, and 9 out of 10 fail in their first year. I feel very confident that far more ACN reps fail.

If I have to pay for my broadband, why would I want to pay for the ACN videophone service too? Surely it should be free between ACN phones, much like Skype is free between skype users. And YES there is a skype videophone.
Few people have ACN phones and you'll find it hard to convince somebody to change their provider in order to get one. Now with skype being free, and most people having a computer, it's not going to be hard to convince people to use it.

@edgovan23 As I mentioned you can give up your local line in exchange for the video phone. Don't even mention the skype videophone, that does not compare to ACNs. Also, u do not need to change providers to get an ACN phone, where did you get the information from? Also, the ACN phone, if not already, is going to be compatible with Iphones and other devices. It's also free to call any phone in US or Canada and has a lot of other advantages over skype.

You have to picture it as a whole. The ACN phone is designed to replace your local phone. Skype can do that to but here's a comparison.
Video Phone: ACN video phone is $99.99 + 29.99 for the adaptor and has Video mail. Skype starts at $257.83
Monthly Charge: ACN is 32.99 which isn't much when you remove your local landline. It has unlimited calls to U.S and Canada. Skype is $2.95 for unlimited calls to U.S and Canada.
Inbound calls: ACN is free. Skype needs to purchase a

@Farago316 No Skype To Skype phonecalls are TOTALLY free. And you CAN replace your landline with skype too!!! If you want a physical skype phone then it costs $245 but you dont have to pay for a plan. But then again you can if you want, and its going to cost you only about $12 a year.
Not to mention you dont need the phone, you could just use your computer with a webcam. CHOICES ARE GOOD. You can take your laptop abroad and use it and have your account usable by your family at home too!

Calling Features: ACN has 16+ calling features, Skype requires you to pay for other means such as $6 for 3 months or $20 per year)
Other: Skype doesn't support 911, both parties need active computers, does not support Caller ID in the U.S and other countries.
Skype is great and free. But the point is, without paying much, why not also have a phone that has video?

I dont know anybody who has an ACN phone and I know that it's going to be considerably harder to get them to use ACN than Skype. Whereas I know plenty of people who already have skype so clearly it is better!
ACN just has not taken off and ever will. Skype is newer than ACN and yet more well known

Sorry my comment got cut off. First, of course I am talking about with the service plan, which like I said isn't much. But I was comparing the Inbound and Outbound calls from non ACN/ Skype users. Anyways, it was fun debating. Your entitled to your opinions. But if you can't see any advantage at all to having an ACN video phone, than I think you're just being ignorant. I see advantages and disadvantages on both sides. Good day.

If anything you've been ignoring the ones I've made. My entire argument is based on the fact you can remove your local landline for a Video phone which overall is better than your traditional ones. Even though skype doesn't offer all the features of the ACN's video phone, I am not directly attacking it and saying it's useless.

@edgovan23 Oh I see, I ignored one of your posts, since it didn't pop up in my inbox. Okay your not gonna buy a video phone and expect to just talk to other video phone users. And just like skype you have to pay to talk to other cells and phones. So the service plan and how much it is ends up like a local line. It's easy to to tell your family to get a video phone, especially if you're a rep because they got nothing to lose by getting it. U may not know anyone with an ACN phone, but that's you.

@edgovan23 You havn't even acknowledged that there's a huge target audience for the ACN video phone. And don't bring up the skype video phone because it's features don't compare! But there are many people age 60+ who do not know how to use a computer, because they didn't grow up with one. Also, with all the advances in technology. It's hard to believe that phones still exist that don't have video.

U couldnt convince the family of a 70 year old man to subscibe to ACN in order to videochat with him when there r cheap/free alternatives available. If it meant the old man having the Asus Skypephone and the rest of his family using a PC, it's far cheaper. Again it wud be far harder 2 convince people to use ACN when there's skype

How can you say that "Skype is so universal and does everything ACN does + more" Can you call 911? Does it have Call Blasting so if you miss a call it' will call multiple cells? Does it have Video Mail? You even have to pay extra for more features.

I wil repeat myself. Skype is newer than ACN and yet it is far more popular. Its been mentioned on TV, news, and films. Most media articles regarding ACN I can find (and there are VERY few) are negative. The only TV programme i've ever seen ACN on is The Apprentice and they had to pay trump to do it! LOL

@edgocan23 You keep mentioning ACN requires you use a physical phone as if that's a bad thing. If that was bad, why would skype offer a video phone itself then? If you have a laptop, then yeah I see skype being more portable. But not everyone has a laptop, and the Iris3000 weighs just 9 ounces, which is not difficult at all carry around if needed. And even when it's unplugged you can still receive video mail, and call blasting still works.

There's even a video of the CEO of skype making a fool of himself on national television where the delay was ridiculous and kept the video kept freezing.

I think it's sad how you dont get picture-in-picture of your own camera on the ACN phone, when you do with Skype. I think it's pretty sad that you cant use ACN on a PC. The quality on skype has two determining factors. The internet speed and your camera. Skype actually employs greater compression, and more likely will result in better quality.

Lastly, as nice as skype is, the quality does not compare to an ACN video phone. The video phone simply has better audio, and better quality. Have you ever heard of QOS? QOS is your router setting called Quality of Service setting and it prioritizes your VOIP calls to use bandwidth first, getting rid fo the lag seen in Skype devices. This is why a true VOIP call is so superior to a computer based video call. I can talk to video phone users in the other side of the world with no delay.

There is nothing different about ACN VoIP. Both Skype and ACN use the broadband, so if someone started a download then both skype and ACN would slow down.

it is a typical ACN response because it is a individual answer. ACN representatives do not look at the social structure, implications and consequences of ACN. For example, they don't look into geometric progression. There's a difference between false hope and lies, and ACN is a lie. According to the Pareto Principle, only a few really do make it big. That's what they fail to see.

I'm looking into the system of ACN. You're analyzing the individual. A typical person, such as yourself, says the person is not motivated, he did not do the right things, he did not do X,Y,Z correctly. Very typical. I'm being critical. You assume that my one friend is the reason for my conclusion. But that is anecdotal evidence. There are more interacting factors contributing to the variables that produces a result. I am sick of the whole "every business is a pyramid" line.
1) in a normal business, the person at the bottom gets paid a guarranteed living wage
2) in a normal business there is no emphasis on getting new recruits. People are also recruited in at all levels of the business, not just the bottom
3) in a normal business, the employees dont do all the work in finding people. People are employed to do a specific job, and occasionaly might have an input into the recruitment process

The only way to get money through this business (as a member) is if you sell the camera phone like crazy!! and that could take allot of time unless you're really good. I think this business will not last but hey, if you're broke and wanna make money, become a member and work hard at it! I in the other hand am really happy with my life and job and don't feel like wasting my time going to these seminars, meetings etc.

I was a member and got out as soon as I saw what the residual were all about. Level 1 through 3 are 1/4 %. Level 4 1/2, level 5 5%, level 6 7% and level 7 10%.
Based on the fact that anyone who is doing the selling themselves, you only get 1/4%, whcih is 25 cents per every $100, no one is going to go out and sell. The only residual income is on other members and maybe the 3 or 4 phones picked up by family and friends.
ACN bases the estimates on 20 sales per member, not even close to facts.

It's so very interesting that you left out some very important facts. When all levels are completed and all of your team has done their part it equals $11,000 a month. And thats a 20 customers a rep. And what makes you seem so silly is who would want to get paid the highest amount at the top when your organization is constantly growing past the first level. I'm glad that you got out. You obviously don't understand the compensation plan.

I fully understand the compensation plan. People selling the services, doing the actual selling, get 1/4%. There is no motivation to sell for 25 cents per $100. Therefor, no matter how many levels down, no one is selling. The only way to make $ is through recruiting, based on a less than honest presentation. Also, they never once showed the phone working, and when forced to do so, quality was poor, choppy and not lip synched. Thanks for the civil reply, though. All the best.

ACN n'est pas une fraude, seulement une bonne façon de jeter 500$ par la fenêtre. Avec 1% de commission sur des services de 30$ par mois, la seule façon de se faire de l'argent décent c'est en leurrant des nouvelles recrues dans le système. Tu peux te faire de l'argent dans ACN, mais ce sera au prix de ta relation avec tes amis et les membres de ta famille qui t'ont fait confiance et ont perdu 500$.

Je voudrais juste donner mon avis, je pense que l'on réalise vraiment la puissance de la réussite d'ACN quand on se retrouve au milieu de milliers d'italiens, espagnols... lors d'une convention ACN !! C'est vraiment IMPOSSIBLE à expliquer, il faut juste la vivre !!! Je n'ai jamais rien connu de mieux, c'est tout simplement magique.. Laissons les mauvais parleurs dans la vie d'aujourd'hui, et ce n'est pas nous qui allons nous en mordre les doigts n'est ce pas ;)

Moi je suis sorti de ma première représentation j'étais persuadé que c'était tous des acteurs. J'ai fais la part des choses sur les forums, je me suis présenté a 3 présentations, et je me suis fait mon avis.
Aujourd'hui je suis représentant, ETT, je complète mes revenus, et je ne regrettes en aucun point d'avoir investi.
