Nice try, but you said that if the island is floating and it can't keep up with the rotation of the earth. Well your not attached to the earth yet you can stay in spot as long as you like right? Objects on the earth rotate with the earth all the time. I think the answer will be a little more complicated than your explanation. BTW the electromagnetic explanation didn't explain anything, but I enjoyed watching it anyway

@Proemed again, i'm not able to add annotations but when i can ill add about that. the tides can change simply cuz the island changes the direction that it is moving towards. but notice that when u said that i'm rotating with the planet, but in on solid ground. any change in a various number of things can alter the tides on the island. plus that's just a theory. check episode of season 5 titles "316" and Eloise Hawking says that the island is always moving.

Nice theory. I also thought that the bomb made the island sink but I didn't have such an explanation for that, so now I do :)
