Miranda weapons can cause devastating damage, even if they can only take a few shots themselves.

That was the VOY episode "message in a bottle". The Doctor is send across the Hirogen telecomunications net to the uss prometheus, in the alpha quadrant. The prometheus is a prototype, but its taken by the rommies. Hence the battle :-)

actually if you watch the episode where the glaxy class starship odysey is attacked by the jem hadar you'll notice him mention that thier weapons penetrated the shields. so that would eplain why thier were no shield effects. safe assumption that the cardassian adapted jem hadar weapon technology to thier own ships

If you mean the fight from 'Sacrifce of Angels' only an idiot would attack the Dominion. They were trying to open a hole to get through by luring ships away from their place. The Dominion will never move unless ordered, unlike the Cardassians.

DS-9 Produced some of the best fleet battles Star Trek came up with. you didn't really see any in the original or in TGN, those were mainly head to head fights. Then again DS-9 brought wars to the alpha quadrant. The only other major fleet battle you got to see was on First Contact (and that was a sweet fight) and Voyager Episode: End Game (which voyager did the all of the work).

You just ripped the entirety of the Battle of Bajor, the actual First Battle of Deep Space Nine, the final minutes of the Battle of Sector 001 and a few bits of the Prometheus battle, with the ending of the Battle of Bajor again at the end of this thing. All of this shit can be found and ripped ANYWHERE on the Internet if you actually look, and judging by the recurring trademark, that is all that you did.

what the federation did was make the right choise, over and over, they didnt stand for anyone trying to take over, and excersize rule over people that would have been opressive, and for this, the men and women serving the federation were willing to give their lives
What i want to know is what the hell they were thinking bringing miranda class vessels to a space battle, i mean come on they're science vessels. I know some were refitted but still the entire design is built for scientific study.
They had no choice than to use it. The Miranda is a science vessel of course, but it has some firepower for her size. 4 torpedotubes, 2 Phaser cannons, and 6 phaser arrays on the saucer. At least she is superior to the old Constitution class. Her only disadvantages are the small size and low shieldpower and that is compensated by high impulse speed. She isn`t that bad for an 80+ years old ship ^^
Then they should have placed it at the edge of the fleet, where it could use the extra maneuverability to pick off the outer enemy vessels. Instead they put them right in the middle where they couldn't use their firepower because they didn't survive long enough through the hail of torpedoes and phaser fire that a larger ship could take and still survive.
Most of this is from the episode "Sacrifies of Angels" of Deep Space 9, features Operation Return, or I think it's also called the Battle for DS9 II. Some of the scene is from other episodes though.
Vkid1412 is right its mainly from ds show... sacrifice of angels, and way of the warrior, theres also first contact in the end but please also check out my other vids not as good but im open to suggestions
I think given the volley fire shields would have been very quickly overwhelmed anyway... Dominion weapons could whack through Federation shields like so much paper.
Epic music would have fit, but the timing on this one is actually quite good, and its pretty 'blaze of glory' music.
actually the dominion weapons reacted to federation shields just like any other races weapons, they even recognized it when weyoun and dukat came to take the station at the begining of the dominion war. before that yes they were weak since they never dealt with polaron weapons. but either way they prolly made it that way in the show cause a battle like this would last hours and obviously they could show several hours worth of fighiing along with everything else in a two hour time frame.
There really wasnt no point to ave shields... they wouldnt have been much help since most of of the battle was point blank range, like when the galaxy classes attacked the galor cruiser when they charged into the enemy lines
if they had shield on the shields would have been hitting eachother, the ships were to close so they are probably disabled, and as seen in legacy energy weapons have the most energy at short ranges so sheilds wouldnt have been muich help
It appears that the ships didnt have shields because of budget. Also later on shields became skin tight, so it stands to reason that you wouldn't see them. Just look at when the Dominion take over DS9. You dont see the station surrounded by a bubble, and all that fire from the fleet would rip it to shreds in seconds. To say they didnt have shields is just stupid. Facts say they didnt for budget, but common sense and canon say that the shields are no longer bubble shaped but are hull tight.
yeh ok that makes sense, but id like to know when exactly they switched over to hull tight shields, because i seem to remember the station having a bubble shield when they moved it to the worm hole, and voyager i think has a bubble shield and if anyone would have new shield tech it would have been voyager, what with borg and new species contact and all, but yeh u got a point
Different type of sheild - a subspace bubble IIRC. Also it looks so cool ships ducking and diving round DS9 a station built for it if there was ever one!
Also you'll see in First Contact that the Enterprise-E has a bubble like shield when the Cube is attacking with its beam. But in Nemesis when they're under attack from the Scimitar, the shields are much tighter around the hull. It's more likely that the ships/stations are able to adjust the shape of their shields, as the movies took place way after DS9.
I think that an adjustable shield would probably be the way that people would go in the future. A skin tight shield would require much more energy to maintain than a spherical or oblong one, however it would offer more maneuverability in tight spaces, and a smaller target to an opponent.
This would have been much better if you hadn't replaced the sound. I know that means the clips wouldn't be connected soundwise, but to me it fits the mood better.

you son of a bitch!!! I choose music wisely. Ok. you dont like it, too bad. I like nickelback, there a great band, and they are one of the reasons why i choose them. I know i could've chose prelitor from globus or dethroned from xray dog, but i fuking did not. Either live with the fuking movie. Besides i listen to ramdom music at best, and i hate that song you mentioned. or fuk off. I dont give shit about negative coments. OK

Think of songs that actually fit the theme of Star Trek, or don't put music in at all and instead use the original SFX from the clips.

No u are fuking wrong, i choose music that appealed to what I though it would fit into, not what star trek songs to put it in.. The main reason i made this video was to pick a song that wasn't star trek ok!!! If u dont like it then dont watch it. i should alteast get some credit fro trying and it was my first. what the fuk are you talking about i didnt try i put what i could... it was my first time... so i do expect some cirtisizm but not things that say i didnt try for shit dumbass

You just ripped the entirety of the Battle of Bajor, the actual First Battle of Deep Space Nine, the final minutes of the Battle of Sector 001 and a few bits of the Prometheus battle, with the ending of the Battle of Bajor again at the end of this thing. All of this shit can be found and ripped ANYWHERE on the Internet if you actually look, and judging by the recurring trademark, that is all that you did.
The music does not fit the mood of the video AT ALL. You didn't even TRY looking for music

What i want to know is what the hell they were thinking bringing miranda class vessels to a space battle, i mean come on they're science vessels. I know some were refitted but still the entire design is built for scientific study.

They had no choice than to use it. The Miranda is a science vessel of course, but it has some firepower for her size. 4 torpedotubes, 2 Phaser cannons, and 6 phaser arrays on the saucer. At least she is superior to the old Constitution class. Her only disadvantages are the small size and low shieldpower and that is compensated by high impulse speed. She isn`t that bad for an 80+ years old ship ^^

Then they should have placed it at the edge of the fleet, where it could use the extra maneuverability to pick off the outer enemy vessels. Instead they put them right in the middle where they couldn't use their firepower because they didn't survive long enough through the hail of torpedoes and phaser fire that a larger ship could take and still survive.

Most of this is from the episode "Sacrifies of Angels" of Deep Space 9, features Operation Return, or I think it's also called the Battle for DS9 II. Some of the scene is from other episodes though.

DS9 was a real epic trek series from season 3 onwards. The Dominion war was brutal and put a very dark edge to the trek universe

I think given the volley fire shields would have been very quickly overwhelmed anyway... Dominion weapons could whack through Federation shields like so much paper.
Epic music would have fit, but the timing on this one is actually quite good, and its pretty 'blaze of glory' music.

actually the dominion weapons reacted to federation shields just like any other races weapons, they even recognized it when weyoun and dukat came to take the station at the begining of the dominion war. before that yes they were weak since they never dealt with polaron weapons. but either way they prolly made it that way in the show cause a battle like this would last hours and obviously they could show several hours worth of fighiing along with everything else in a two hour time frame.

There really wasnt no point to ave shields... they wouldnt have been much help since most of of the battle was point blank range, like when the galaxy classes attacked the galor cruiser when they charged into the enemy lines

if they had shield on the shields would have been hitting eachother, the ships were to close so they are probably disabled, and as seen in legacy energy weapons have the most energy at short ranges so sheilds wouldnt have been muich help

It appears that the ships didnt have shields because of budget. Also later on shields became skin tight, so it stands to reason that you wouldn't see them. Just look at when the Dominion take over DS9. You dont see the station surrounded by a bubble, and all that fire from the fleet would rip it to shreds in seconds. To say they didnt have shields is just stupid. Facts say they didnt for budget, but common sense and canon say that the shields are no longer bubble shaped but are hull tight.

yeh ok that makes sense, but id like to know when exactly they switched over to hull tight shields, because i seem to remember the station having a bubble shield when they moved it to the worm hole, and voyager i think has a bubble shield and if anyone would have new shield tech it would have been voyager, what with borg and new species contact and all, but yeh u got a point

Different type of sheild - a subspace bubble IIRC. Also it looks so cool ships ducking and diving round DS9 a station built for it if there was ever one!

Also you'll see in First Contact that the Enterprise-E has a bubble like shield when the Cube is attacking with its beam. But in Nemesis when they're under attack from the Scimitar, the shields are much tighter around the hull. It's more likely that the ships/stations are able to adjust the shape of their shields, as the movies took place way after DS9.

I think that an adjustable shield would probably be the way that people would go in the future. A skin tight shield would require much more energy to maintain than a spherical or oblong one, however it would offer more maneuverability in tight spaces, and a smaller target to an opponent.
