  • different planes .......747 is a bodybuilder , concorde is more elegant and fast .

  • Horrible music completely ruins this video...dislike.

  • @marcnistor4567 Thanks for the comment.

  • if you think, that there will be a replacement for the 747 straight after it's de-commed. no such thing happened with concorde. it was the only ever supersonic airliner which actually did it's job. there will always be a big fat slow plane. there will never be another sleek, beutiful and fast plane which people could enjoy when they were flying on it and when they weren't.

  • @boltjet135 Yes although there need to be some tweeks before SST's can be viable again, the sonic booms for example, then range and fuel prices etc.

  • @ConcordeCentral balls to the SST. i want an actual replacement for concorde. have you heard about current developments into hydrogen jets. they wanted to fit them to the SR-71 but they weren't ready. they are clean, cheaper and more powerful. the sonic boom thing is ridiclous in my view. i equate it to a loud bike going past your house. the SST project was actually sabotaged by McManara, shame. if the russians and americans were actually succesful concorde may of actually had competiotn :)

  • @boltjet135 Oh yes maybe Hydrogen jets may be a good idea if its clean. I think if you lengthen the nose it reduces the boom. It is a shame USA and Soviet Union didnt really provide a proper competition plane for Concorde, it might have been nice to see if Concorde would have been upgraded if that had happened.

  • I believe that you made a typo in the concorde. 16 were built not 20!

  • @markallayban There were 14 in service, 2 prototypes, 2 pre-production models and 2 'first off the line' models where I guess airlines would see what Concorde could do.

  • actually 2707 was widebody but the 747 carry more people. the latest 747 could mark the beginning of giant sst since it could reach mach 0.98 and longer than a340. the latest passenger variant could take flight in late 2011. the freighter version was been pushed to almost mach 1 of speed

  • @josephtan1818 Really? I would have thought that the 2707 would be narrow bodied because of it flying so fast. Yes roll on the -8I's first flight! I think they get to those speeds by climbing and falling very quickly, but I'm not sure. Thanks for the comment.

  • @ConcordeCentral same here, the 2707 use 2-3-2 seating arrangement where's 747 is 3-4-3 seating

  • @josephtan1818 I did not know that thank you. I'm guessing that because of this factor it may have been even more costly to research because of the wider fuselage? (I hope that made sense)

  • concorde is way better look at it compared to 747.

  • @rockinconcorde2 hehe, I guess so. But you can always argue the range and passenger capacity of the 747 makes it better.

  • @ConcordeCentral well i would fly concorde any day.

  • @Trainlover300 Possibly but then Boeing would have had their SST out so it would be Concorde V 2707 but there may have been more Concorde orders

  • its always concorde central making these videos! maybe a little too easy for him. i would say that it must be CONCORDE. concorde goes aroung mach 2.00

  • @Cathaydude Yes, its a shame that Concorde doesn't fly anymore at least now you can see a 747 easily, but concorde not so. Thanks for the comment

  • @ConcordeCentral how bout aviation muesems?

  • @Cathaydude Depends where you go, the intrepid museum arnt taking good care of theirs apparently, the concorde in filton is closed cus airbus couldnt care less, manchester its all open so when people go and touch things bits get broken off and nothing is really being done by the looks of it! Air France really chose the right museums for their fleet but BA really didnt i dont think (unless airbus intervined in that as well)

  • @ConcordeCentral how about london? or reading? in England

  • @Cathaydude depends where you are really, theres one in duxford, surrey... but seeing it in a museum isnt the same as the air!

  • @ConcordeCentral of course! u mean Oxford?

  • @Cathaydude well one of them are in duxford (one of the prototypes) and another in surrey (but i didnt know about surrey, it might be oxford im not sure)

  • Concorde looks better

  • @Inf3rnoCat definately

  • Both are amazing aircraft. The 747 is always under appreciated, it can't compete with the looks of the Concorde. The 747 gets the work done though, it's list of service is admirable. It roles range from passenger jet, cargo carrier, NASA Shuttle transporter and Air Force One.

  • @stereokid yeah but i think given half the chance to fly supersonically over land, concorde will have been able to be built more and possibly become one of the Air Force One jets or at least a presidential aircraft from somewhere

  • i remember growing up i thought the concorde was a spaceship

  • @Leo240sx well i dont blame you, compared to other comerical aircraft it does look a little odd to a child

  • yeah and a few others also did, but not as much as concorde!

  • if concorde was still flying today i would be 110% satisfied with aircraft. but coz its not i'll have to turn to any other MASSIVE plane. lol

  • @mrdukenukem1 indeed, concorde did capture everyones imagination

  • Concorde ALL THE WAY!!!!!!

  • @mrdukenukem1 yeah, noone will forget concorde in a hurry

  • Concorde did not understand economics...she just knew how to fly,and boy could she fly....Concorde is dearly missed and a true aviation icon. For me it will would be concorde every day over the 747, but I have nothing against 747's at all.

  • @fihsteln no i see where you are coming from the 747 is great but concorde will be remembered more... it really is a shame the concorde b project was never started, if only more airlines took an interest then maybe concorde would be still in the skies but with better fuel economy

  • concored 4-ever :DDDD

  • @Zetomat yeah, never forget her!

  • Well the 747 uses less fuel but the concorde is faster but the 747 is still around but the concorde was less crashing. Just to say.

  • @SoloWingF16 yes but the concorde does seem to be more remembered than the 747 but i guess thats because of the different journey times and looks of it compared to other aircraft

  • They can not be compared. One, because they are so different an two, they are both so beautiful!

  • @ronny4ever123 they are simply being compared because of which will be the most remembered in say 10-20 years time, they were both made in the same era and took flight in 1969 (if im correct)

  • as it says in your video its not which ones better its which will be the most rememberd, and i think concorde will be most rememberd souly because it was the only supersonic aircraft to enter passenger service.

  • @cornettoman6 ah u are forgetting the tu-144 which flew a few months before concorde but was unsuccessful because of safety problems but yes it is which will be most remembered

  • yehh, i knew about that, put if im correct it never enterd passenger serivice did it?, it only flew the mail, and never eneterd passenger service because 2 of them crashed in the first 4 years?

  • @cornettoman6 yeah but it wouldnt be an experience like concorde as to break the sound barrier a second time they will have needed to keep putting the afterburners on which would put the fuel down even more so it wouldnt have been successful even if it did enter passenger service it would keep loosing airlines money via fuel

  • Yehh, in my opinion they should get a concorde back for airshows, (i know it wont happen though :/), or start work on a new sst, i dont think aviation is the same without concorde :/

  • @cornettoman6 no the concorde b plan should have gone ahead

and yes airshows would be amazing

  • @ConcordeCentral yeah, i agree with you there, i have now been able to get on a concorde, albeit in a museum :/, its just not the same

  • @cornettoman6 no its not really is it? its a shame really that they are not being kept updated so they can taxi at least now and then

  • @ConcordeCentral A French group called oplympus 593 have been given permission to start work on concorde sierra delta at Le bourget in paris, to restart the engines to tax iit evcry year at the paris air show :D

  • @cornettoman6 omg really, thats excellent news

  • concorde

  • thanks

  • while i am a being man, i have that america is best attitude and the 747 is the more efficient aircraft. im willing to bet that if you asked every person who has ever flown in a 747 which one they would rather fly they would say concorde

  • of course flying concorde will be a totally different experience (and totally different price per ticket) and yes the 747 is a lot more effiecient im sure even the -100 is more efficient than concorde (passenger fuel consumption)

  • lol the Concorde is a speed stick

  • yeah and it looks absolutely beautiful

  • Concorde built for speed, 747 built for capacity.

I think I would pefer the Concorde. At least If I was visting wherever for a short while, I go home the same day.

  • yeah i guess i would defiantly go for the concorde even if it was for a long holiday

  • Yeah. At least make it more exicting.

  • yeah :)

  • too hard. but if i hade to choose i would pick the 747

    i luv the heavys

  • of course it is hard, thats y i put it up :)

    thanks

  • Both are freaking awesome.

  • ok thanks

  • hellfire video mate nice one mate 5stars and fav

  • ok thanks

  • Not even hard, Concorde!

  • ;) thanks

  • The Concorde is elegant, fast and unique.

The 747 has a legend of size and range, and also being a huge economic success for Boeing but I'm afraid the Speed Bird may have edged it, they didn't call it Concorde for nothing y'know, rather than 3 digits.

  • yes true true i do believe that this was hard as concorde was the first supersonic aircraft (at the moment hopefully more soon) but the 747 was the first aircraft with more than one deck (passenger jet wise) and also having their first flights a few months apart it made it especially difficult, im not sure what i would vote for the 747 is amazing but i would rather be seen in the concorde jetting around

  • Actually the TU-144 was the first SST in 1968 albeit it only operated in revenue service for 2.5 years, but it kept flying up until 2006 I believe.

I doubt we'll be seeing supersonic airliners within the next decade, more like 2025 at minimum, when the market and tech are ready.

  • well u know what i mean about it

yeah and with the current climate i doubt that the government would give boeing etc the money for more sst even if they didnt have to pay it back

  • Yeah but if the concorde was still around I would be afraid to fly in it! lol

  • id be afraid also but would still do it XD

  • The 747's big but the concorde is fast. WOW both are great aircraft

  • yeah i thought that this would be a good idea for a video because it would get people thinking im thinking of doing another type something to do with speed v distance

    thanks for the comment

  • The 747

  • :) thanks
