  • load subsonic and it'd be cool

  • its not a silencer its a suppressor

  • looks like a short action???

  • nice cap

  • If you fired a 338 one handed like that it would cut your head open or take your eye out with the scope from the recoil. That is not a 338!

  • @dirtdobber1959 Yeah totally. I just looked at other .338 vids and the dudes shooting then almost fell over !

  • @Irish16King yeh but he's laying down in the back of a ute/truck, shooting like that allows your body to absorb more of the recoil

  • @wossels87 I guess but still though. It looks pretty weak :/

  • @dirtdobber1959 he's laying down

  • NOOOOOOO NOW WELL NEVER KNOW IF HE GOT IT

  • It was patented with the name silencer.. But it doesn't fully silence the gun. Just makes it dam near impossible to tell where the shot came from

  • press 6 to see him fire.

  • "yea i got it"

  • keep hitting 6

  • its a suppressor not a silencer, just hides the muzzle flash, and distorts the sound a little.

  • @koushinproductions Suppressor and silencer is the same thing. But the word silencer is a misnomer because a silencer will not make a firearm silent.

  • @gunnaraw uh-huh ^_____________________________^

  • @koushinproductions I own 2 sound suppressor. So I have actual hands on experience with suppressors unlike most youtube commentators. I would like to point out that you are listening to a RECORDING of a suppressed rifle and not an actual suppressed rifle. Recordings of suppressed (and unsuppressed) rifles do not sound like real life rifles due to technical limitations of recording and playback equipment.

  • @koushinproductions The placement of the microphone and the muzzle, in relation to each other and the surroundings, will effect the recording. Reflecting surfaces will effect the sound. He seems to be shooting from the back of a pickup truck. The tailgate does problably reflect the supersonic crack, of the bullet, away from the microphone.

  • @gunnaraw owning one, doesn't mean you know all the technological specifications of it. If you are a gunsmith however, you might have convinced me ^_______________________________^.

  • @koushinproductions .308W rifle @ 1m to the side of the muzzle = 170 dB. Threshold of pain occurs at 120-140 dB. Effective .308 suppressor reduces sound by 30 dB => (170-30)dB = 140dB. You don't need to be a gun smith to figure that 140 dB isn't quiet and that term silencer is a misnomer.

  • @gunnaraw You can actually silence a firearm. It's just, not with the thing that is used here, which is a suppressor, so respectfully sir, you are wrong. ^_________________^

  • @koushinproductions A suppressor and a silencer is still the same thing. You can make a gun almost silent by combining a sound suppressor with subsonic ammunition. But if you are using supersonic ammunition the firearm will be loud regardless if you are using a "silencer" or not. (That does not mean that a suppressor is useless. -30dB is a reduction of the sound pressure by 97%. It just that the remaining 3% of the sound pressure is still enough to cause hearing damages.)

  • @koushinproductions

The inventor, Hiram Maxim, called it a "silencer." He marketed it calling it a "silencer." If it's good enough for the inventor of the device, I think it's good enough for me. And for you.

  • @SansAuthoritas Well even if it was called the silencer by the inventor, doesn't mean it will be used on all times, perception changes and as people notice, the term silencer isn't appropriate if you can't really silence the weapon. If it doesn't silence the gun and it only suppresses the sound, then lets call it by the appropriately as a suppressor. Like I said, times change, he can call it silencer all he wants, that's his right and choice and no one can stop him, but I go for suppressor. :)

  • @koushinproductions

Times do change. It doesn't mean we need to bow to everyone who says "the correct term is 'suppressor.'" What do you call the .45 caliber cartridge that was used in the 1911? ACP? Automatic Colt Pistol? Why, it's a SEMI-automatic, isn't it? But they were called "automatic pistols" when they were invented. I have no problem with anyone using either term. They're both correct, in their own way.

  • @SansAuthoritas Calling something a name that it isn't is ignorant.

  • @GovernmentAgentJym13

It is not ignorant if you know the background of both names. Is it ignorant to call a generic"facial tissue" a "Kleenex?"

  • @koushinproductions It can be both called silencer and suppressor. I go out of my way to say 'silencer' to piss off you fags who feel the need to make a technical distinction where there isn't.

  • hold 6 for machine gun

  • Though referred to as the same thing, suppressor and silencer does not mean the same thing. The device does not silence the weapon, it suppresses the sound and for lack of a better word, 'camouflages' the sound making it difficult to distinguish the direction from which the noise is emanating. They proper term is suppressor, however it is clear that people will always tend to call them silencers, albeit incorrectly.

    Nice rifle by the way....

  • @MERCILESSPIT "Silencer" is not an incorrect term, dipshit. It's a misnomer, but not incorrect, so stop spreading your bullshit.

  • @csmybuttt LOL, You Mad? You do know the definition of silence, right? It means the absence of sound. Suppressors to not make a weapon silent. The bullshit that is spreading is coming from you. But that's ok lil' guy, you can call it a silencer all you want and remain incorrect, it makes no difference to me. You'll just sound like a tool as long as you call it a silencer.

  • @MERCILESSPIT Silencers have been around and been called that since its invention in the 1900s. Suppressor is a term coined in the 70s or 80s because fags like you wanted to be technical.

Do words have to accurately describe an object's function? How about a car's "glove box"? Are you not allowed to keep anything else in there, other than gloves?

Don't fucking patronize others when you yourself barely know shit, if at all.

  • I WANNA KNOW IF HE HIT IT OR NOT!!! This has a hell of a cliffhanger. GREAT MOVIE!

  • that needs a bigger muffler on it

  • That rifle...if it is really a .338 Win...needs a larger suppressor

  • Dude has to wait for the wind to be right.

  • that's not a silencer, that's a suppressor.

  • @Putrid186 And you're a gamerfag/moviefag for making a distinction between the two. Silencer and suppressor are two terms that refer to the same device, and therefore interchangeable.

  • @csmybuttt not really. it's more like "clip" and "magazine". only idiots call a magazine a "clip", and only idiots call a suppressor a "silencer".

  • @aseglkj No, as clip and magazine refer to different items, while silencer and suppressor refer to the same item. If you go out of your way to go "hurr durr it's a suppressor", you just might be a gamerfag or bullshit armchair warrior.

  • @csmybuttt no not rally ,22lr one of the few calibers you can fully silence to the point where all you here is the bolt cycling, supressors merely reduce the projected sound and with subsonic ammo no sonic "crack" in the air , it more like comparing a car muffler to a whistle tip....

  • @gunfuego What 22? Silencer and suppressor refer to the same fucking device, so what are you talking about? Therefore, comparing a silencer to a suppressor is like comparing a muffler to another muffler, not a whistle tip.

I'd like to give you the benefit of the doubt that you are going to make sense next time, but I don't think you deserve it.

  • @csmybuttt troller

  • @gunfuego I'm not trolling; you're just retarded.

  • @aseglkj Actually a silencer and a suppressor are the same thing, clips and magazines are different.

  • @timd789 do you know what silence is? silence is the absence of sound. you can't make a gun silent. Even with a suppressor, it will still be fairly loud. You can only suppress the sound. That's why it's not a "silencer".

  • @aseglkj I didn't say that it made sense, i just said that's what they're called. last time i checked you were not a dictionary, so you have absolutely no right to say what is or isn't a word based on whether or not it makes sense to you. I quote from Wikipedia: A suppressor, sound suppressor, sound moderator, or silencer, is a device attached to or part of the barrel of a firearm which reduces the amount of noise and flash generated by firing the weapon. silencer is an acceptable term. fuck you

  • need more wind sound!

  • @mario0fan HATER

  • I dunno about you but this vid made me LOL

  • FAIL...he shot his mom

  • My lord its the sniper rifle from Goldeneye!

  • that cricket in the background basically sums it up

  • @nolanosam

what do u mean? resume? or its a plus?

  • Is that a NightForce NSX I see there?

  • whats with it with people wearing camoflauge shirts? it isnt going to hide you from animals, they do not care what you are wearing. It only hides you from other shooters. dangerous right?

  • @StunnedMutha Actually you are incorrect. The correct pattern for the circumstances does an excellent job of preventing an animal such as a deer or turkey from seeing you. Most animals are color blind or see within a limited color range. The pattern prevents the animal from making out a distinct shape. Deer, hogs, and many other hunted animals use scent as opposed to vision as a primary defense against predators.

  • @clancysdaddy hmm, you may be right, but i still believe that any eye is attracted to movement more so than it is to patterns, Id probably not go to the obther of wearing camo, though you have a point and thats just me :)

  • @clancysdaddy the old logic of animales not being able to see in color has been proven wrong, animals such as deer have an ever higher color range, than people do

  • chevy silverado

  • Chrome camo!

  • was that subsonic ammo?

  • @GermanShepherdsRule9 did the hear the crack?

  • @GermanShepherdsRule9 No, it definitely broke the sound barrier.

  • 20 seconds just to see a rifle fire?

  • please mommy :)

  • Hey so I'm going Moose hunting this fall, does anyone know where I can get a silencer to go on my Remington M700? Thanks

  • @612Jfox420 go to red jacket. They'll take the job if you got the money. If not, shove it in someones arse then shoot it :)

  • rapid fire

  • t-t-t-today jr.

  • @Dlucas1357 have you ever lined up a shot on a real rifle?

  • what is that a ruger m77 mk2

  • what is that a ruger

  • some titanium silencers work really nicely on these

  • wasting my time......

  • Nice.

  • if you look at the hammer and safety it looks like the gun is crooked

  • how often u have to clean the Suppressor ?

  • now thats a silencer not a suppressor

  • They fire at 0:17

  • @thepigofhappiness nobody gives a shit

  • i have the same sling n bipod on my .308 :D lol

  • dumb cunt bitch you look like a slut with that thing

  • @McDoogles111 what? ur an idiot. please die

  • looks like a butch from the back

  • sooo quiet...

  • fake and gay

  • @MrUjabuja how is it fake and homosexual??

  • @cokefan3 He was ripping a joke off of this guy on Youtube called Ray William Johnson. The guy reviews videos, and occasionaly he pretends to be a troll (I don't know why either...) and he pretends to type stuff like "fake and gay", "false and homosexual" and random stuff like that. Guy is a bit wierd if you ask me...

  • @naedanger123 Dude, i know... I was just trying to make the troll ask him, "What the fuck...?"

  • No point in having a suppressed .338 as when u r using proper subsonic ammo most of the space in the normally long cartridge - where the powder usually is - will be made up with mostly filler.

suppressors, imo, don't belong on full power rifles, esp magnum rifles.

  • @9x19mmProductions silencers/suppressors that are used in high power rifles do not completely remove all sound, they do muffle the explosion of the powder though and this is sufficient to mask the location of the shooter at long range - which is all you really need. (they also make it easy on the ears for the shooter!)

  • What's the point of having a silencer if it still makes such a blood loud noise?

  • @Toro953 It's not actually called a silencer it's a suppressor. it reduces flash and a little bit of the sound.

  • @Toro953 1. Protect your ability to hear 2. usually improves accuracy 3. It significantly reduces recoil. In my 700 Rem .243win the group sizes dropped between 50-75%. Here in Finland is quite common to have silencer/supressor/moderator (same thing) installed to hunting and sporting rifles and it is not considered to be a big bad thing that only criminals or poachers use.

  • where can i get 1 of those!!!

  • uuh warmhearted gIrl who is searching for a man who would be able to satisfy my needs

  • SUPPRESSOR. NOT SILENCER.

  • @xRevolution318 SILENCER

  • @xRevolution318 actually the supressor is the class of object, the silencer the specific. saying suppresor, not silencer, is like saying assault rifle, not firearm.

  • 176 people didnt get it

  • Suppressor.

They must be legal in your state. If they are - you pay a $200 fee to the Fed Govt, and you typically have to get permission in writing from your local head of law enforcement for your county - the Sheriff or the Police Chief. They sign on your application. Then, yous end it in and get processed. Once you have that paperwork approved (they do a background check) - then you can get one from a Class III dealer.

You can also create a trust and do other paperwork to get around the re

  • I'm Jealous.

  • thats a small silencer for a .338

  • in soviet Russia gun silences you

  • @fabianeberle thats what they do everywhere dumb ass

  • i hate silencers

  • How can i get a suppressor legally??

  • @TheAirforce1994 depending on what state ur in just go to ur local gun store

  • @TheAirforce1994 How can I get one ILLEGALLY?

  • @thisguy4148 Gotta be 21 fill out the proper forms (sheriffs department or gun dealer can help) pay $200 for tax stamp wait to be approved and buy it

  • @chadreedfan221 I've heard some stories from friends who worked in sheriffs offices here in Colorado. About how the paperwork required for a class 3 item gives the sheriffs office the right to search and seizure of your household at anytime without warrant. Hope that isn't true but I'd really like to go shooting without going deaf or needing ear plugs.

  • @thisguy41487 If you have a lathe, make one yourself. Its not like its hard.

Don't recommend it though. 10 years in prison and a $250,000 fine if you get caught with it OR a $200 tax stamp? Not really that difficult of a choice imo.

  • How can i get one of these legally?

  • So why use a supressor for hunting? is it a protect your ears thing?

  • @jmantheburninator Without the supressor it would be a loud sound i think they use it to not to scare the other animals or they would run the fuck away and that would ruin the hunting day.

  • @DURANProductioN Oh. I'm not sure though because I know that they don't quiet the gun down a whole lot, anything that breaks the sound barrier is going to make a crack. I'm sure you've seen deer run from so little as a twig breaking near by. Of course im not a hunter though, hunters may fire at an animal from a farther distance then i had imagined

  • @DURANProductioN without sub-sonic ammo to fire with a suppressor you'll still hear the sound of the bullet breaking the sound barrier, with subsonic ammo depending on caliber and the type of suppressor it could be virtually silent

  • In Soviet Russia you don't silence the gun,The gun silences you my friend

  • you can suppress a gun, but as long as the bullet is traveling over the speed of sound, its going to be loud.

  • @Halvorson Iv tried that with .22, it will reduce the muzzle blast a lot, but the sonic boom is still there, you get a strange distant 'crack' . Id like to see a sound test from 50 metres away from the gun with subsonics and hi-velocity, Im sure the sound would be way down when your away from the gun

  • a .338 with that low recoil? i that a .338 lapua?

  • @1NSANEMADMAN they are like the same! same recoil! :)

  • its a suppressor not a silencer

  • is so boring

  • Chevy eh. Love it.

  • silencers arent very silent o_o

  • AHHHHHH Jesus people get your terminology right. Of course you cant "silence" a .50 because its virtually impossible to silence any firearm. S-U-P-P-R-E-S-S-O-R. Not a Silencer. That term is a misnomer. It was coined by Hiram Maxim since he was the first to really put them into production. But please, PLEASE stop saying it. If the bad guy from the new A-Team movie can get it right then so can you. And yes there are suppressors for .50s. The AAC Cyclops comes to mind and im sure there are others.

  • @MichaudIra Ever heard of a sub-sonic round + suppressor? Sounds like someone snapping their fingers under water.

  • shoot much?

  • so did he get it

  • @sk8rguy4life1123

    I think "it" is a she :D

  • @sk8rguy4life1123 yea i guess, there a little noise after the shot, i think he got it

  • @sk8rguy4life1123 ha, i was just about to ask the same exact thing till i read this

  • Definitely would not want to be anywhere near the receiving end of a .338 haha. Biggest I got is .308 :(

  • Werd you pick up that shootin platform lol

  • beautiful sniper there mate, too bad I live in UK and it SUCKS! no guns!

  • @moemoe20092007 not even BBs and more omg ~.~

  • for the first 5 seconds I thought the scope was shiny XD

  • @ViciouslyAwesome LOL me too... Too bad in a way-- it would have looked pretty sweet regardless of whether it is a good idea or not.

  • @ViciouslyAwesome Holy shit, me too!

  • SUBSONIC AMMO WOULDA BEEN BETTER, BUT WHATS THE POINT OF HAVING A 338 THAT SUBSONIC.

  • It always make me wonder why Hollywood always used a 'peeuump' noise when a guy fires a silenced weapon.

  • I bet if u put a silencer to a50.cal it would fly with the bullet as you shoot...

  • @Mrzjasuu Ummm...no.

  • @Mrzjasuu you cant silence a barret

  • @XxSniperTeamBxX you can, just watch the newest Rambo the sniper in the movie has a 50. and it's silenced

  • @XxSniperTeamBxX first off it is spelt barrett, secondly there are many different .50 calibre rifles in the world such as an AS50, third barrett make a rifle called an M98b which fires a .416 bullet. fourth your a complete dick.

  • @collieoVTEC 5th get laid kid

  • @XxSniperTeamBxX me get laid? i spend some of my time on a range, you spend all your time in front of a tv screen pretending.

  • @collieoVTEC its funny because your first, fourth, and fifth points were all ridiculously unnecessary, and your second and third points were off topic.

    btw, its "youre" not "your"

  • @sirwestiethe7th haha, is that your attempt to annoy me? your a 45 year old prick who has obviously got nothing better to do.

  • Dude.. i wanna silencer for my 300 mag

  • Wind Fail.

  • quit windy though nice vid.

  • trevor from the whitest kids you know? it looks like him :D

  • @supimbob12 great show. lol hunting house cats

  • @shinymarshtop2 yeah, this is probably one of the outtakes. the guy who's talking at the end even sounds like sam.

  • sounds like a .22 =]

  • @TheLHB2010 True but yeah movies do that A LOT.

  • Wat's the travel distance on a .338 ?

  • This is PROOF that guns rarely get muzzle flash

  • its .338 winchester rifle with A SUPRESSER!! GOD DAMN ARE YOU PPL THIS STUPID?!?! YES CUS OTHER WISE YOU'LL HAVE WRITTEN SUPRESSER INSTEAD OF SILENCER!!

  • @bazengao What the difference in a supresser and a silencer?

  • @Dannypwns1 a supresser works by lowering the muzzle flash and noise but it doesn't erases at all it presence just lowers the noise level, while a silencer is something made up by hollywood and ignorants who dont know the real name of the device, a silencer any kind of silencer is consebd to erase ALL noise produce by the gun and the only way to do it is just as equal as not firing the gun at all. and if you used a device with that macthes it name (silencer) the gun would be virtually noise free

  • @bazengao Ahh thanks xD

A guy who knows his stuff haha.

  • @bazengao thumbs up bro. it's funny how silence is the absolute lack of sound, yet people still call suppressors silencers, even though it's impossible to completely silence a gun.

  • It is called a silencer, in all government documents its called a SILENCER, every company that makes them calls them a SILENCER, in every legal, official document, they are called silencers, also, the patent is called a silencer

  • @ikegare1243 actually smartass, if you had the least bit of intelligence in that underdeveloped brain of yours you would know its originally called the sound suppresor or surpressor for short. Silencer is more of a "slang" term for it because it slightly reduces the sound now stfu and go bitch on another video and check your info before you do dickweed.

  • People who insist on calling it a suppressor rather than a silencer don't know that the device was patented as the Maxim Silencer.

  • @TheRealSiguy I just say suppressor because the way I look at it, that's the more accurate description of the device's abilities.

  • @TheRealSiguy well its not very silent now is it? definitely sounds suppressed though. but you are correct. just a bad choice of a name i say. as moosezorz said, suppressor seems to be a better description of the devices capabilities. although silence and suppress are synonyms. hmm
