@RockyWhyNott You must be a pretty good at caulking then, if you did it long enough to wear out your finger. Maybe you're destined to be a painter. No comment is silly enough not to send me since I can't help you with your projects if I don't know what the issue is (as an example), so anytime you have a howto question/comment...fire away. Joe :0
@superlambing14 That's one of the secrets. Don't do it too often as caulking doesn't taste very good! If I need to do more caulking than this, I take a damp sponge around with me & get my finger wet with that. Try it. Thanks for commenting. Joe :0
You're right. A "pro" already knows this, but there are a lot of people constantly learning. And the FIRST mistake they make, is to put on way to much, usually from cutting the hole to big. Another little trick I've learned, is to CUT YOUR FINGERNAILS. It's makes a big difference when trying to smooth it out.
@Kauwhaka Good point about not too long of fingernails. Thanks for adding that tip. Other viewers who choose to read these comments will benefit from your knowledge. Thank you. Joe :0
@EmberToInferno444 You'd be surprised at how many two years olds are out there then! Everyone who does caulking all the time, of course knows this. But for the untrained or first timer....not so much. Thought I would make this video for them. Thanks for commenting. Joe :0
@EmberToInferno444 haha yea thats wat i was thinking. this is no secret. its kinda common sense. How ever to videojoeknows seems common sense isnt very common lol.

@lranen Great! Good luck with your project. I have other videos that show how to caulk, if need be. Look for them. Joe :0

My first experience with caulking was at age 16. I used my fingers to wipe..all day long and practically wore my fingerprints off I was so raw. lol!
Otherwise, I like caulking.
Thanx for allowing me another silly comment.

Yeah exactly how I do it as well. It's the little things like caulking those gaps before painting that make a huge difference in an end result.
