And to "TheExpertsInc" comment, i never made the connection of Armatage Shanks being a tolilet brand = as in life is getting flushed down the toilet, that is very cool. I like how lots of GD songs are about personal problems to do with the mind, and emotions like anger, doubt, and insecurities. Not just singing about girls and shit.

SWEEET, an Interesting fact about this song!

Green Day made their debut at the Mtv 1994 VMA's In September & they were meant to play the song 'Basket Case' but surprised the audience w/ a new song 'Armatage Shanks', over a year Before It got released for Insomniac, I always find It funny & Ironic that Billie sang a song about his life going down the drain (Armatage Shanks = toilet brand) yet they perfomed It for MTV which means they made It to success, so yeah, this song also wasn't out yet.

@TheExpertsInc I remember reading about that as well as many other TV performances they did a song not planned. In that Armatage Shanks performance, the lyrics are switched around (having not fully been developed) and the drum fills are in different places.

Reason why the song was named armatage shanks is because right before the actual live performance on the VM'As Billie Joe took a piss and saw that the toilet paper holder was called "Armatage shanks". And he associated that with what his life had become at that point of his life.
