Yes. You are correct regarding the voltage tripler.
I've seen several sets that use the Philips Protelgram system and its close cousins. Unfortunately, the only 2 that I ever laid my hands had problems inside that sealed HV unit.
Your choice of source material for the demo is interesting. Check out my demonstration of my restored 1947 RCA Model 648PV Rear Projection Console Television here on YouTube.
Dammittall, my Safari is gonna be useless here in a couple of weeks...Guess I'll just hafta use it for Target Practice...Yeah, Right....(grin)

There was a Philips projector
in Europe that used around 25KV at that
time.I can see what looks like a voltage
trebler after the Horiz output transformer.
Think in the Philips unit all the High Voltage stuff was in an oil filled can.
Yes,shoot some analogue closedown!

Yes indeed,coincidence!.Like the
TV,EHT must be around 25KV
I think.

Thanks!
You're pretty close on the HV. It measures 29.6KV.
BTW, I also have a Philco Safari. I'll have to shoot and post some video of it playing an analog OTA signal before it all ends on February 17.

Hi
The viewing distance from the screen is
critical because of the mirror to get the
picture size right but considering
everything it does work very well.Amazing
technology for the time.
