We should absolutely celebrate Columbus Day because it's a celebration of the Old World merging with the new - The Columbian Exchange.
He was a flawed man who did some very bad things. But if you want to judge by today's standards, then no one would pass muster. We couldn't celebrate Washington, Jefferson, or Lincoln.

I've always found it interesting that we celebrate the man so much, since he sucked as a captain and denied that he had discovered a new world. But, this is a good point. Kudos, Columbus. You may have been off your rocker a little bit, but you got it done...kind of.

Columbus never made it to America let alone discover it.He was a ruthless governor of some bullshit place he found south of us,and enjoyed having peoples heads cut off.He died alone on a failed sailing expedition(becuase he could'nt navigate to save his life!)And he was the Knights Templar's' bitch!
