  • really informative and interesting

  • some great inforamtion here thanks

  • What do they mean? "Need to find out if this has value" - I could think of a million reasons why this would have practical value to patients! I.e allowing people to walk again!

  • Glow in the dark penis..... Missing is no longer a problem.

  • @lakaiiscool12 Will You Stop Posting This Stuff? Young People Come Here! >:(

  • his first words this mouse may look normal... mine..uh its green

  • will its offspring get to glow too?

  • SCIENCE!

  • "this mouse looks normal" how is it normal it's got green feet !

  • They should do this to all mice, to make them easier for cats to catch. Then they should do it to cats, to make it easier for dogs to catch.

  • I whish I was a mouse. Then i had my nerve damage cured...

  • NOBODY CARE WHO YOU ARE BRAD!!

  • the only thing keeping us from doing this to humans is because of ethical reasons. This type of transfer is 100% safe

  • When I was a kid i colored my pet mouse with glow in the dark chalk, lit him up with a blacklight and let him loose in a dark room. It was awesome. lol

  • Being as the myocardial cells increase with stimulating the surface of the skin this makes sense...kim

  • @kimlea69 LOL myocardial cells?

  • @00MrPanda00 research it out

  • Hey ohkkaralho.....your "pennis"? How about PENIS you idiot. You should be looking into stem cells for your brain function not a glowing penis.

  • @lisapet47 wuts up with all the cheap shots? he was just jokin and he just made a typo...no reason to pull a b**ch move like that

  • Very Cool!!

  • they should patent and sell glowing mice!

  • @Greensanemanic they already sell glowing fish.....mice will come to market soon

  • Looks like that guy has been picking a few hairs of his own, lately...

  • unlucky for mr mouse, he's probably about to have his skin put through a blender

  • cool

  • That mouse is tripping balls!

  • GTP FTW!!

  • when can they grow my 1-inch wonder into a foot long monster cock?!?!?!

  • lol "we wanted to grow the nerve cells of these mice, but it was funnier to make them glowing!"

  • 蛍光塗料・・

  • maybe this is why aliens glow

  • Icke is a lunatic.

  • I want one!

  • Even with the light, the ears are tinted green.

  • Hm.....grab a few of your own hairs as stem cell providers, farm them... make new fllicles cure for baldness ftw.

  • do you even know what stem cells are?

  • agreed!!! i've had enough of these "hair-brained" schemes!!!!

  • Disco Mice.

  • Comment removed

  • hahahaha :L

  • cool!

  • take your pills fucker.

  • Parteh Mice.

  • if i could i would totaly buy one of thoes as a pet

  • and ill b making green fluorescent arabidopsis plant in next few weeks lol

  • lets be honest. You go first.

  • not realy.. they were already looking for it and then found it.. only in bigger quantity and other places. Nice word tho :)

  • Anti-cancer inc, Making mice glow since 2008.

  • Cool. I wish they sold these

  • I want my pennis to be like that

  • why ? because it's so small that you can't see it in the dark ?? haha lmao !! just joking !

  • @ohkkaralho yeah, to me :D

  • @ohkkaralho Buy a condom its a lot easier.

  • @ohkkaralho wow dude you can't even spell "penis" are you sure you have one.

  • @ohkkaralho Fuck You! Innapropriate AND Immature Asshole

  • @ohkkaralho they make glow in the dark condoms....next best thing

  • I want my pubes to grow like that.

  • were can we buy glowing mice ???

  • i want one

  • You can tell the education level of Octavian by his ignorant posting.

  • Comment removed

  • you are so ignorant to believe any of that chain mail crap. All it does is clog my inbox and couintless other comment pages on websites. y dont u go screw tht little girl AND your mom, bug off.

  • we're learning about this in science. i saw this on thursday.... hahahaha

  • thats nice

  • my poop glows like that

  • They should sell these glowing mice, I'm sure many people would want one as a pet. Think of the money they can raise selling them.

  • YEAH!

  • I WANNA GLOW

  • All great discoveries have come not from things we THOUGHT we knew, but from things we DIDNT know. This is this is the very nature of science!

Cancer has become our biggest predator, Im scared of it. BUT soon it will be like polio, and mumps-a simple shot or nasal whiff and we are CURED!

  • Alcohol kills more people than cancer in my country. *(

  • where you from?

  • I wish to download this vid. But I don't know how. :(

  • Download helper add-on for Firefox

  • are this mouse genmanipulated ???

  • i think you mean transgenic... and yes. GFP is a gene from jellyfish.

  • it's amazing what we can do these days.

  • @Blue21Films

I know, what's next? they're going to genetically engineer the Green Lantern?

  • @707Chiva genetically create synthetic lives and become creators.

  • Very cool!

  • if a person is already ill or brain damaged whats the risk?

  • lol

  • I saw this video 2 years ago its not recent at all.

  • O.o

  • Test it on Death Row!

  • yeah! i'm sick of saying that to those who ask me what i think 'bout it! but they just call me a sadist.. :)

  • WTF, stop complaining about the testing of animals when it's intended to advance medical science to help humans! It's fucking mice you loonies!

  • You would rather have them test it on you?

  • rather test in animals than humans, right?

  • we've tested this on animals for years and no1 cares, and now stemcell research is questioned cuz we want to use humans, humans are animals too right? So what's the difference, I know you make a point but if they stop testing on animals they can raither do it on humans and then on humans also is animals, the loop continues. So yeh raither humans than animals

  • i agree with you friend. all i care the most are about the millions of people who can benefit from its final product, right? that's just all that matters, who cares about if a trillion mice died in the process. :)

  • true, Research about medecine is about getting the best solution to our medecinal problems right? So why block the door?

  • wait until you have a child who has ancer and I bet your opinion will do a 180. Sure we all have to die, but science has extendd our lives much further. The average life expectancy of a male in 1845 in the U.S. was 45 years old.

  • sounds almost like your both using situational comments.

did everyone forget our body Heals itself? since when did we start caring otherwise?

just my thought. nothing more. nothing less.

  • djnfinity - So when you get sick, refuse treatment. Stand on your principles.

  • @Bob06460 45? i dont beleive that. it would make sence to be 65.

  • Think if it this way. There is a 1/3 chance you might eat your words someday.

  • maybe you idiots are going to die once we deprive you of life extending procedures for a good reason.

anyway you know the white tuff that comes out when you pull hairs? well... I wish I had growthfactors and a microscope ready.

  • GFP doesn't injure animals or anyone else. It's a biological substance of jellyfishes and thank God they have it discovered. It's just amazing what we can and will learn of and with it.

  • The mouse is glowing green. -kind of like a lightning bug, only a mouse! Its a green glowing mouse.

    Shine little glow-mouse, glimmer, glimmer

    Shine little glow-mouse, glimmer, glimmer

Lead us lest too far we wander

Love's sweet voice is calling yonder

    Shine little glow-mouse, glimmer, glimmer

Hey, there don't get dimmer, dimmer

    Light the path below, above

And lead us on to love!

  • radioactive mice, the cuter more evil form.

  • Glow in the dark mice = 5 stars.

And hey. an unforseen benefit: it will be easy to find mice in the house, just turn off the lights ;)

Ok, bumping up my IQ by 50, yeah, this was an interesting video.

  • Many seem critical of this, viewing it as a "snakeoil" claim. Do your own research. Of all the comments I have seen, not one mentions looking up the PUBLISHED JOURNAL ARTICLE. They wouldn't be presenting such a claim if it weren't extensively researched, and published. It should be easy enough to search for the journal article online.

  • One of things that needs to be done is further controlled research into pharmaceuticals that are currently listed as "controlled". Too many doors are being closed because of previous abuses and unfounded fears.

  • I looked up the published journal article. It was published in PNAS in 2004. They made a Nestin-GFP mouse, which expresses GFP in Nestin+ stem cell populations. It was already known that stem cells reside in the hair shaft. Hoffman showed the stem cells in the hair are marked by Nestin (no real surprise). It was already known that brain cells express Nestin and GFP mice already existed. He's pushing his research to promote his company. Nothing wrong with that, its good showbiz.

  • All babies born starting 2010 should be forced to glow!

  • Do Want.

imagine, rocking up to a halloween party glowing

  • You won't like me when I'm angry...

  • great for all the people like me stuck in wheelchairs with spinal cord injuries. :)

  • i hope that 5 years from now, we (i mean, the scientists, :) will be able to help you.

  • ★★★★★ [wanna watch it again ?] ★★★★★

    [wisedom is bliss] ......[.mob]

  • Very grate evolution in Cancer research... I think a next study will show us how to make variation of the color...

  • I would like a glowing son

  • does this mean we now have the cure for cancer???

well too late for someone I know..

    :(

but good for the the future

  • the future will be better tomorrow :)

  • chillingchimp's vids own!!

  • screw flashlights. just pop on of dem mice into a tube lawl

  • its green because they added flourecent markers to the cells.

  • ...I wonder if the mouse can sleep at night, hahaha poor mouse.

  • That glow in the dark mouse costs a lot now. LoL

I liked the fact that they found out that nerve cells can be regenerated so those who are paralised due to nerve cells damage can recover and walk again.

  • The reason it is glowing is because the scientist fed the mice green cheese. hehe.

  • nice edu for researchers

  • ok ..it's good to find things .. like keys .. fell on the ground..in dark :)

    by using hand only:)

  • poor rats

  • That's not a mouse, that's Tinkerbell.

  • i want to have a glowing penis

  • I hear that glow-in-the-dark condoms exist, so that's fairly close. There's also glow-in-the-dark Halloween make-up, but I don't know how safe it would be to be puting something with those chemicals on one's penis.

  • Why can't they be used while having sex? Are they not meant for that? Are they just meant as a novelty and not to be used like regular condoms? I imagine that, depending on the sexual activity involved, a charged-up glow-in-the-dark condom might have a certain distracting "strobe" effect while in use. :p ;)

  • What goes on in your mind?

  • Tis a dark and frightening place! :p

  • me too! lol

  • Cool.. I can shave my butt hair.. grind it up in a blender, add some fruit juice and ice cubes and have a cherry stem cell refreshing smoothy. Cure my body and make me smarter. :) lol

  • Do they want to make people glow in the dark?

  • u SUCK!!!

  • Why no references to the laboratory, the scientists behind the research or any publications regarding the research?

Plucking hairs? Well, I for one can tell you the follicle is not extracted by plucking hairs. Otherwise epilation would be needed only once to get rid of excess body hair.

  • Hey, it's the leading actor from Arnold's Clone Movie!

  • Will this make my hair stop falling or what?

  • You should be more worried about you're brains falling out

  • Neurons I have billions but hair I have just some hundred thousand. Talking serious now... I would be very happy if this research end in something great, like the solution for nerve damage or something. But it sounds like one more discovery that will result in nothing practical.

  • yea we need more funding for this shit. fuck iraq...

  • it would be way easier to catch these little bastards if they all glowed like this.

  • mouse: great, this will make it easier to evade owls...

  • yeah... and they wud also make light to their pathways, no more bumping into trees at night!

  • Very cool. I can't wait to see if this works with human stem cells. Isn't science grand?!

On the other hand, they've also opened up the market on glowing pets. They could make a fortune! lol

  • Ïf this works on humans to there is no point to play hide and seek in the dark xD

  • Yup, 9/11 was definitely an inside job. Neurons don't just grow on their own, they need lots of heat. Why do you think the 9/11 buildings caught fire?

  • .....i want to glow :3

  • awesome

  • Next up, glowing goldfish night lights!

  • big bang theory quote... Nice!

  • Cool new ways for the New World Order to torture us. Cut us in various places then grow the nerves back, Genius!

  • sounds good! hair follice stem cells..hope this works out

  • That gave me a boner

  • wow science has come along way the last couple of years, imagine the possibilities!

  • hooray stem cell research

  • that made my fucking day

  • Thank you researchers, my son has cerebral palsy and could use some nuerons, etc., to repair his brain damage.

We anxiously await your progress. Anyone who knows of any similar treatments , hit me up.

    Daddy for Christopher......

  • Constraint-Induced Therapy. It may or may not work to regrow the connections. The human brain as it is, is highly plastic and people do recover from brain damage. CP might be unique, I'm not sure, I don't know much about it. But Constraint-Induced Therapy can help people recover loss of function from stroke (Taub 1980; 1993; 1999a; 1999b; 2000; 2006).

  • The religious ethical argument is against the use of embryos for the harvesting of stem cells. There are other types of stem cells but apparently embryonic stem cells are the most versatile.

  • take your religious bullshit somewhere else

  • this is amazing. a new turn in science. wow

  • lol, that's nice if wanna see in the dark.

  • "COME TO MY LAB, PINKY"

  • LOL!

  • I WANT TO GLOW LIKE THAT!

  • Luciferase

  • shut up you people, when you get cancer and research like this saves your life, you'll be thankful. plus, these animals are not being experimented on for no reason, they will help save millions of people in the future.
