@ZADL11 not really hector soto was said to have a 50 inch vert and he's 6'6.  Try looking at the game where puertorico plays america. At ont point he gets waist high to the net and he folds to hit the ball to avoid the block. I've never seen MArshall do that.... Soto just knows he can jump and plays it smart. Leonell tries to jump out of the gym on every jump...lol

True, as was stated in the description these clips are from the World Cup. I guess I was using "World League" in the title as a more of a general term to refer to these types of competitions. (Soto was actually the top scorer in the most recent World Cup and World Championship)

About giba, I was also hell surprised when I saw his reach's only 3,25m coz I can do more (although I'm shorter than him) but if you look carefully you'll see he never spikes higher than the top of the antenna (dunno how to name it ;/) and it's 3.23-2,25. so this one might be true. Just it proves you don't have to touch 370 or even 380cm to be the best ;] Giba is very smart and of course he plays with a genious setter.

Soto is just great...the fact that he was the best scorer in the World cup and in the World Championship along with the Panamerican Games makes you give him the whole credit! He is just AMAZING!

Dude maybe the statistics are older, but I wouldn't be surprised if they were true. Just it depends on the camera, if you look at his hoop at 0:10 you'll see the difference. I've seen a movie of Winiarski making a jumpserve and it look exactly the same like he was 150cm above the ground level but in fact his reach is about 350cm. Of course it doesn't change the fact that Soto is a great player.

Well then you must believe Giba only touches 325cm (his listed spike). I'm not talking about the shot at :10. That angle is obviously misleading. Pause the video at his peak around :21-:22 and look at his body position relative to the net and blocker. Note that this camera angle actually favors objects further in the distance (i.e. the net)

Yeah, I'm 14, touch about 320 cm off an approach, which means my spike is probably around 315. Obviously I'm growing and my jump is going up, so I'm not done.

That said, that means there's no way in hell Giba spikes 322 cm. That's BS. 350. Some players like Matey Kazisky and Clay Stanley can spike at 370 even. This is bull.
