The F-111 uses an escape capsule system as well, although it doesn't have the airbags. Consequently most crew who eject suffer from severe spinal compression
The F-111 escape module DOES use airbags known as impact attenuation bags. It's also equipped with self-righting flotation bags to automatically flip the module upright in the event it becomes inverted during a water landing.
They abandonded the vrew escape capsule due to cost and maintenance. They retrofitted it with ACESII ejection seats and explosive hatches.
