Infant co-sleeping - laying it on the line.

lady you have no right to say that those deaths were caused because the parents were druggies or drunks you have no clue to their situation...im not saying they were or wernt, whatever the situation the death of a baby is hard enough with out some random woman adding insult by insinuating that the parent may have had a substance issue, co sleeping is benificial when done correctly

I dare you to go to these parents of the babies who died co sleeping and accuse them of being druggies or drunk! "That's not that many deaths" really? 1 is too many! You would feel differently if it was your baby that died! Co sleeping should be illegal!

@tidgie82 Most cases of co-sleeping deaths are from unsafe environments, including drunk or drugged out parents, this is a fact. From 1990 through 1995, 3508 babies died in their cribs. You do the math. Look at the MILLIONS of crib recalled this year alone! It should not be illegal. I'd rather have my son safe in my bed then alone in a crib that could break and suffocate him. Also, more babies die in the US from circumcision every year then SIDS, yet I see no huge public out cry against that.

Love it... We all sleep in the same room. Our 2 and half year old girl and our 7 months old boy. It's a little crowdy, but it's ok... :-) Love breastfeeding them in bed half asleep. The only thing is, my husband and me use separate covers, so our son doesn't get covered over his head or something...

We co slept with our first who is now 5, we didn't have any issues other than he wouldn't sleep on his own until just a few months ago. Now with our daughter we still do the same thing and I couldn't imagine doing otherwise. Besides I am breastfeeding (no bottles) and if I had her in a crib I simply would never sleep.

my son has slept next to us since he was 2 weeks. he was hospitalized and traumatized and wouldn't leave me. he is now nearly 7 months and no probs, except he takes up most of the bed cause he likes to sprawl out. lol
