There was a financial incentive for the coup paid to Greece by America after Cyprus became independent from the UK in the 60s. The UK were allowed territory on the island providing that they protected the country from outsider interference, ie anyone other than Greece or Turkey. This is why the American interest was to involve one of these countries. The government in Cyprus was overthrown by Greece and a police state was created BEFORE the Turkish had reached the island.So you tell me American?

your video is completely incorrect. There is no mention of the ethnic cleasnsing created by the Turks. The Turkish army ethnically cleased 250,000 Greek Cyps. from the North and are not allowed to return to their homes to this day.
Ethnic cleansing? When Turkey intervened in 1974 and occupied the north, there were 20,000+ Greek Cypriots in Karpasia who could not get away and so were aloud to stay. They were not touched. Does that sound like ethnic cleansing to you?
