Abundance is a state of mind first -- you feel and act prosperous before your bank account is full; true prosperity will follow your hard work and generosity.
Abundance is the perception of having more relative to the measure of having enough of any one thing. One is abundant when it is perceived of having more good health, money, problems, etc., than just enough of any one thing.
Abundance is in the eye of the beholder. Consider what we have as oposed to what we do not have. Gratitude for what we have in life, that is often taken for granted, should make us feel very abundant. Consider that there is food on the table, regardless of the quantity. We are able to walk, talk, have our hands and fingers work. These are substantial things to be grateful for and that means we have abundance. Gratitude for being alive and breathing brings joy to the heart and attracts more..
Abundance is the concept we use to express the fact that everything we want is available to us, providing we understand how to reach out and accept it. Any lack is only within ourselves, not in the universe.
If you have an abundance of riches, you have no worries, that could include; wealth, health, career, housing, clothes, adult toys, first class travel, etc...the true concept of abundance lies with the individual.
In conscious living, we know that when we get more, someone else gets less in another part of the world. There will never be true fulfillment in that way.
We are moving into a new social paradigm shift:
ABUNDANCE OF BEING from Self Sustainability & humanitarian living where everyone shares their gifts with each other.
Mother Theresa had abundance of peace, love and fulfillment from living her purpose.
An abundant life is a life that is fulfilling and complete. It means something different to each of us. The problem is that we often don't see the abundance that surrounds us and we are always in a state of 'searching' for abundance.
Focus on that lack of abundance and you find yourself with plenty of opportunities to keep looking, to keep searching. By changing your focus, you discover abundance flowing into your life all the time and you learn to direct the flow into meaningful directions.

When you are in Divine flow, living aligned with your unique purpose, then you have complete freedom to make choices and manifest happiness, fulfillment, and prosperity. This is abundance to me.

As you know from my writings, I use "Strength" synonymously --for Strength is the presence of abundance physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually. It's the reserve capacity for making the maximum impact in the world.
Abundance is the feeling of Gratitude for whatever you have and is happening in your life and the Peace of Mind that follows from that. Without Gratitude and Peace of Mind now amount of anything is ever enough.
