  • no sound ? i thought my speakers were gone lol.

  • What happened to the sound, No sound :11/01/11

  • I just had mine done professionally. The guy said you MUST also do water pump, crank seal, both cam seals and idler/tensioner. The water pump is turned by the cam belt but water pump shaft can break after 100000 K, not good.

  • well my tenshioner broke and the belt sliped a bit so i need to find out how to line all the pullys back up before i put the new belt on

  • that battery is ancient!!!! :D thanks for the info bro ;)

  • Good video mate shame about the sound

  • how much time would a garage take to change a cambelt on a subaru impreza ? and what price would be ok to pay them to do this ?

  • excellent vid, pity no sound, im doing mine soon so might make a vid myself as this was really helpful, thanks for posting :-)

  • wheres the sound? can you add it pleeeeeeze??

  • did you mime this... and yes, I would like to hear Sinatra....! :)

  • @SGTINJ I don't know how to break this to you but.......HE'S DEAD!!!

  • @BJs4MePlz I would if i knew what an ENJOY bay was.

  • Thanks for the Vid! Sorry to see the Youtube police got your audio.

  • no sound :(

  • whats name of the song

  • Well done.

  • my manual says to leave the tensioner bolts slightly loose when you release compresion, theres only two bolts holding the tensioner on so you can take it off and use a vice to compress SLOWLY. should take three minutes according to manual.

  • Can anyone tell me how to ensure the valve lash adjuster contains no air? After the rocker covers off of course.

  • man it looks weird in boxer engine

  • also there are 2 alignment marks on all 4 cam pulleys ,,1 mark has a slot and the other mark has a double slot,,,double slots line up together single marks line up with side casing

  • he didnt even mention the mainshaft alignment mark

  • Well i do apologise crazy, I assumed that once you have lined up your camshaft marks before you remove the belt the mainshaft would remain in the correct position so unless you are stupid enough to turn the engine over with the belt off there was no need to point this out. Oh, and by the way if you are stupid enough to turn the engine over with the belt off you should not be attempting this job in the first place.

  • LOL i agree on you with this one

    however ive got a EJ25...

and im trying to look for a tutorial...

doesnt seem that anyone has made one.

  • @eeiko321 I'd do one but I don't have a camera:( gota do mine soon.

  • we need more of this stuff!

    Awesome work!!!!

  • good video, except for one part - compressing the tension plunger and sticking in the pin. Are you using a sword to ease it in? I can't tell how how do it in the video... I had to pull the tensioner stuff and use a vice to compress the plunger.

Not too bad of a task, though. I bet I can do it in less than 2 hours the next time.

  • Thats what the service manual reccomends, could use a clamp to do also

  • very good vid mate that has helped me a lot so thanks mate well done

  • Nice visual run through! many thanks for taking the time to post this up!

I'll be doing a cambelt on my Impreza Turbo very soon, and while it's all very well to have a manual to refer to, watching someone do the actual thing is sometimes a heck of a lot more helpful!

    Cheers again bud! :)

  • 50 cent would b gud

  • wheres the sound at cant hear a dam thing man

  • What would you like to hear, frank sinatra singing "my way" maybe?

  • @bigsod1963 hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha!ahhhhhhahahahahahaha!!

  • yeah its really annoying there isnt any sound

  • You should have locked the rh cam pulleys otherwise they can make contact once they spin when you take the belt off.

But good job for using a dayco, now i know how to put mine on to line the marks up correctly

  • you are the man...Putting the timing belt on looks complicated, looks like you need 3 or 4 hands.I don't like the boxter setting , and it's a tight spot to work also.Congrats on the work , next time change water pump and idler bearing ,you dont want to do that work twice.

  • Read my reply on the video.

  • doin mine and its takin piss right now! wish it did only take 5.32mins :-)
