@Fyrfyter616 Ever heard of Risk vs reward? This fire is in defensive mode for likely several reasons. 1-no rescue required 2-limited water supply 3 -Length of time burning 4- FF safety.
This bldg is balloon contruction(main house) that has been burning some time(fire breach roof) attacking structural members. The risk of sending FF in or on roof is too high-anf or what? to save property? Hit the books a little harder- your attitude is one reason why there are 100 LODD a year average
I say well done, they were able to sustain passable control of the fire and begin EMS operations on a downed FF. I agree they did a pretty good job, especially if there is a structural collapse. I do think though they should drink more water perhaps, we keep a 24 pack on all our rigs, except the quint.
@FyrFyter616 Anybody that calls themselves a firefighter should be able to spell CHIEF. You obviously are a rookie or a poser since you don't recognize they are doing a defensive attack since the roof on that section of the house has caved in. They have a ladder to the second floor of the other part of the house so somebody was interior at some point. They are dealing with a firefighter down and achieving extinguishment at the same time so I say good job.
@ffjsb ok first of all, I've been in a fd for a couple years now and a very busy one at that. I've taken more classes then you can probly count, and probly know more then you realize. yes i mispelled a word on accident, but either way you go this is a WAY to passive attack/rescue......... 2 thumbs WAY down
@FyrFyter616 You may have had some classes, but you a seriously lacking in practical experience. You have no idea what the initial conditions were, and what the initial attack was because it's not shown in the video. You also don't know whether the house was even occupied. And if you listened to the audio, you'd know that water supply was also a concern. I've been around more that a couple of years. Your assement of the situation is wrong.
@FyrFyter616 For starters, a couple years as a firefighter means shit. There is a big difference between sitting in a class then actually fighting a fire. Get more experience before you start talking shit.
