I had a lurcher, whippet x american staffordshire, she was the best dog and the greatest hunter I ever saw. She hunted in a team with a crazy whippet, even got deers . Unbelivable if you would know her size, but she was just muscles. She was more like a whippet, but stronger, and so gentle when she was in the familiy or with children. She died when she was 15 years old- the best dog I ever had. My believe is huntig with a good dog is much more natural than a bad marksman!

@imDaveCrazy I got a lurcher last night Bull/greyhound/collie/irish terrier/wheaton its a real good dog year and a half i got 3 foxes and 2 hares yesterday lamping and 5 foxes today in the bogs.. nothing wrong with bull crosses

@RYAND548 There seems to be a lot of people backing the bull crosses now and they are cracking lamping dogs and can even take deer. The dad of the Whippet/Collie X Beddlington we have was Whippet X Collie and used to take deer regularly, he also figured out if he pelted it down this hill under this oak tree he could scare the wood pigeons out and they had to fly down to get out of the tree.. Had a few of those for the pot as well. Collie cross should give it some brains, so wont run into wires!

@billybruiser Much appreciated video. Brings back old memorys of lamping in the north of Ireland in the late 1960;s. Our record was 60 rabbits in 2 hours with 2 lurchers,deerhound whippet greyhound mix after skinning these rabbits we smelt of rabbit for at least 3 days, you'll know what I mean!! We used a Cibie long range spotlight with a 750 Honda battery. Those were the days. Good luck mate. Cheers.
