I love wacoms, not only do they help with cleaning a rough drawing but they also will save many trees from being cut due to alot of paper drawings being used while wit a wacom is just the screen. I would buy one and price is not to bad.
Why don't you go on line and buy a refurbished from the company.... Cheaper and they ship anywhere. Plus I know the guys that refurbish the Cintiq and they make them even better. I feel your pain.
Hey I saw most of this video on the DVD Wacom gave me for buying their tablets. It's a pretty cool DVD, they go into different aspects of Happy Trails animation studio. I went from the Graphire to Intuos 3 to the Cintiq 12wx. Maybe I'll upgrade to the 21" model eventually, the 12wx resolution is a bit too small for my liking. Flash gets kind of squished and you're constantly zooming in and out.
Yes they are a bit of money... Especially right now. But you need to think of them as your graphics computer. Remember you will buy and retire many computers before the Cintiq dies.
tn13 Im kinda in the same position as you. i can draw and i love animating.I need a cintiq to replace my new Intuos3 A5.... just in case anyone needs one... my coordination is bad when it comes to looking at the screen while my hand is elsewhere. Im also wondering if anyones seen a cintiq 12.1" for $1000
If you go to wacom(dot)com, you can order a 12.1" for $999. And that's direct from company. And if you're willing to give up your Intuos3 I'm more than willing to take it.
I wanted one when I posted this comment 9 months ago, but recently just bought a new laptop so the money I could make from my Intuos3 wouldnt be close to enough for a 12.1", seeing it would be from scratch again :( sorry.
umm... I love drawing and i am very good at it, my father had the tlent so turns out I can draw too. I used flash animation for many stuff before, I own an A5 wacom graphire tablet. It was the biggest mistake to buy one, I cannot draw on computers. Im very interested in animations, I have no one to ask for help please please just help me Im just lost and I ned help no one understands when I talk about these stuff please help...
I'm doing research on how Wacom users handle the friction problem on tablets. I noticed that you and some others wear a glove. The one that you're wearing on your video, did you make that yourself? I have one that is very similar to yours except that mine is black and only covers the pinky. It's called SmudgeGuard and you can google it if you want to see it. But is the friction problem the reason why you wear the glove?
Lets just say I was trained 2D animation in the old traditional manner and we used those same gloves to try and keep the cels clean. Also when using the animation wheel with a light behind it sometimes gets hot the glove helps the hand slide on the paper and cool the hand. SO yes that is a glove that we made just like the old days. The best part is that it slides realy well accross the glass as a posed to paper. Does that help.
im a tattooer and we go through thousands of sketches in order to get a tattoo right just like the guy in happy trails says, this tool will cut my work load as well as saving me loads of cash on drawing materials i got mine from wacoms main site and bought a demonstration , absolutely new with 2 years warranty for 2000 euro , its well worth it and if you hav'nt got the cash , get a job ,work hard , but most of all believe that you will have it , and you WILL.peace
how can i get this " bootleg photoshop" lol ... these things are freaking aweseom wish i was of working age ...or at least able to find a nice well paying summer job
It's not expensive for adults with jobs. I'm not a pro, I just dabble on it, and I love it. My Cintiq rocks! At only $2500 you could get one with a summer job. It's all about priorities. All the boohoo'n about price on the net is just more typical BS laziness from a Generation of kids who want EVERYTHING handed to them. Get a job, save your cash, get a Cintiq. It's simple.
"Generation of kids who want EVERYTHING handed to them."
That's just the sort of typical presumptuous bullshit I'm tired of hearing from adults. Pissants who don't know how hard it is to get jobs when you're our age and don't understand that the little money we get goes to things like cars and insurance. I don't know what the fuck it is you do that makes this an easy buy, but it must be pretty well paying to spend 2,500 on a hobby. Calling us names just makes you sound like a dickhead.
Where exactly could I find a summer job where I could accumulate that kind of cash? Honestly, I'd like to know, because between school funds, my car and everyday expenses I really don't have anything left to blow on something I "dabble" in.
Don't assume that this entire generation of kids is a bunch of lazy fucks who want everything handed to them. I have a job, I save my cash, but I can't afford a Cintiq. It is not simple at all.
My question to you would be why do you have a PC... Money right? . This is up to show how a simple new tool can change how animation production it produced...Paperless. The best thing that students like yourself can do is approach your school staff and get these in your schools...you are paying for an education... why don't they provide you with the appropriat tools. So blame your school... Not Wacom or my self.
That was by no means ment for you. I appreaciate the fact that you are present info on this product. That rant was ment for the user Bullmeecham. His comment that the Cintiq was not expensive for adults with jobs was really, well, insulting to guys like me who do work for a living and cant afford to just buy something this expensive on a whim.
My big beef right now is that you are paying way to much for school. And if they are scaming your dollars... My question is why can't your money at least gain you access to tools like this? Actually in the dinosaur age that is why you went to school...access to very expensive equipment that you normally could not afford. Now all they expose you to is software. I say BLAME THE SCHOOL'S not weiter or not you have a job.
The thing is a major tool if you're in the business... nothing to spend that money on when you're already running a beefy computer for your livelihood. It's expensive for teenagers who run pirated copies of Photoshop, yes.
i dont care how long it takes im going to get one shit
