  • why is the topic all about work, education etc? typical beliefs that success in life is about intellect and a career.......VILE. there are very few people who are EMOTIONALLY successful, most don;t even know what it is, they think they are 'smart' because they get a good job and $, most people are 'book smart' yet when it comes to self expression they are dumb as posts.

  • People can definitely lead successful lives without becoming wealthy financially or popular leaders. Self-talk will help an individual become his or her best, whether or not that involves fame and fortune.

  • Good question, thanks for asking. The way to overcome that habitual negative response is to replace it with many positive statements to yourself, silently of course in the presence of another. No complex statement is needed, just something basic like "I had the habit of giving in to people who intimidate me, but this time I am not going to do that." Eventually, you will be able to change your way of thinking, reacting, and speaking..

  • hi doc lampton. i have a problem

    and it is deffonately with the way i communicate to myself.

    i communicae very negatively about most things. but this one thing is so negative, it stops me taking action. this will sound silly, but when somebody tries to intimidate me, i get intimidated too easily my mind is screaming to defy, thats what i want to do, but subconciously it takes over and i submit, do you have any ideas or methods as to how to combat this negative midset? thank you

  • In my speeches and seminars, I share this advice when I talk about motivation. I explain that pushing the DOWN button guarantees a bad day, while pushing the UP button mentally as we get out of bed works like magic. The "UP button approach" mysteriously opens doors for us that otherwise would have been slammed shut.
