they did in 1989. it's called speed zone. had john candy, eugeen levit, the smothers brothers, brook shields, john scheider, plus others.

@lewisfraser21 I know this is a year late but there is a "Cannonball Run 3 aka Speed Zone!" (1989) but only Jamie Farr returned to reprise his role as the arab. The rest were John Candy, Eugene Levy, Smothers Brothers, etc... Its on You Tube posted by jeffcool78. The parts are hard to find but if you go to his site and search Speed Zone all the parts will pop up. Thanks for playing and please come again.
