  • Man u inspired me, got these and insalled them thanks to u! Witch hid bulbs match the vleds ?

  • @TheJake0308 Any HID with a 5000K color temperature should come close (assuming you bought the same VLED bulb that I did (5000K). VLED does sell a more blue switchback also). I didn't want to go to HID (don't like the less focused beam that most tend to put out) so I went with the Philips Diamond Vision H4 bulbs "5000K". These are not U.S. DOT approved due to the color temp, but match well. I ordered them from nigel-jdmparts and they had them shipped from Japan. I like Philips bulbs.

  • That extra wire to turn on the white on the switchback bulb is connected on the corner +.

  • @N6EAJ ok i baught the same bulb 6k instead of d 5k have u even ran to this problem, running DRTL using signal in about 5 min (switchback begginin to get warm) the white starting to flicker.i called vled they said its manufactre defect they sent me another pair it still the same.let me knw tnx

  • Just a quick question.i been folowing your article but i can see the information on how you made parking light blink with the signal..thnx

  • @pinoykillaz That was a personal project using a microcontroller and other circuitry. For less involved way, do some searching on Tacomaworld and Customtacos. Many people replace the parking light bulbs with a dual filament bulb. That way you can have the parking lights on, but they will flash with your turn signals. You can find details on those two websites.

  • @N6EAJ ty for the response and ty for description i just done this mod on my 2006 tacoma prerunner.now i also found couple ploaces to buy relay for LED which fix hyperflash.my question does this switchback bulb also work on my 2006 tacoma?

  • I was just wondering where the cigarette lighter connection is to hook it up to that and how did you connect the wire to the cigarette lighter.

  • Dude I'm going crazy so I did the two steps he said and I got a 01 I already had led tail lights and I did that ground to tail light to a bolt and none of it worked. Do u have any clue what I should try next?

  • Hay I got my lights n they are cool I hooked up the power from the running light but I have a prob when I hit the brakes the white goes off did u have this?

  • @nate3535 I did have that problem. It was an interesting problem to diagnose. Follow the link in the description for the video. Post 14 talks about that problem and links to the full story on why it happens and how to fix it.

  • hey so Im going to buy this off of v leds.com and when you and checking out it says qty 1 is that one set of 2 light or just one light?

  • did you use resistors or did you get a led flasher so your blinkers didnt to hiper flash?

i made custom led blinkers and brake light for my 01 tacoma im going to post a vid soon.

  • @nate3535 I modified my blinker relay/circuit so I didn't get hyper flash. Basically I made it into a led flasher/relay by replacing the current sense resistor with a much higher value.

  • Do i have to do any mods so that the blue LED part will dis engage when my blinker is on like yours? i see alot of other ones that blink orange and white...I like yours on how the white turns off completely until the blinking is complete...Also how did you run it to your cigarette lighter? did you use a special adapter?

  • @danny62217 That white/blue LEDs turning off is built into the bulbs. AKA "Switchback". When you turn on your turns signal, the white LEDs go off and the amber flashes on/off automatically. V-LED has type 2 and type 1 styles. One type flashes between amber and white and the other is like mine where the amber just flashes on and off. I get the 12V off a 12V circuit that comes on with the ignition. I used a quick-splice connector. Do the google search and read my article on Tacoma world.

  • @danny62217 I added a link to the how-to article in the description of the video.

  • @danny62217 The orange/white blinking versus the orange on/off is the type of bulb you buy. You can by type 1 or type 2 bulbs from V-LED. One type is on/off and the other is white/orange.

  • I have an 03 tacoma as well...all you needed was the bulbs and everything works fine or are there any mods that need to be done? also did you disable the DRLs?

  • @danny62217 Besides the bulbs you need to run 12V down to the sockets so the white LEDs have power. Do a Google search for "tacomaworld 1st gen switchback LEDs" for an install guide.

  • Sweet! what about the DRL's :(

  • @danny62217 The Switchback LEDs I added are in the bumper. These use to be just turns signals, but are now turn signals and driving lights (DRLs). My truck did not come stock with the headlights setup as DRLs (some do and run about 1/2 power when the truck is on). The corner lights (next to the headlights) are just standard amber bulbs (921 bulbs).

  • Also for future reference could you please put Switchback LED'sType 2 in the title, its hard to find vids of these as most people have the type 1 amber white flashing units which I find to distracting

  • what socket are the corner lights? 194? I would try to retrofit in some 3157 or 1157 sockets into the corner housings and put some switchbacks up there too, or at least replace them with an led it wont have that fade effect like the incadesent lights.

  • Dude Seriously!

Where can I find some for mine???

  • we need to find something as bright in an LED for the corners now.. :) do a vid in bling man! :) *Chris D.
