@corey1845 Previous knowledge of these specific programs is definitely a bonus, but not a necessity. Students will be taught everything they need during the program. However, at least some knowledge of 3D animation in general should be shown in your portfolio when you apply. Thanks!
@VancouverFilmSchool why do you prefer to work with maya and not with 3ds max ....what are the differences that made you choose maya instead of 3ds max
@danny3man Our Game Design students will use 3ds Max on occasion but Maya is typically the primary choice for 3D Animation & Visual Effects. At VFS we want to ensure that our students leave as prepared for the industry as possible so our focus is on teaching software that is industry standard. Right now Maya seems to that standard. Hope that answers your question. Thanks!
as much as I hate to say it, knowing how much time is put into it, I think the transform takes away from the reel. I love the bike though, looks like an amazing bike ad. Made me want one lol.
Thanks so much for all your kind words. It is much appreciated!
SSCrow- the Mantis is rigged for the transformation sequence, although a secondary level control can be created on the same model. However, I've been told most productions would use 2 separate animation models. :)
atlasperros: This was created in XSI, but Maya can be used to do this as well. I have recently learned to use Maya & it's just a matter of finding the "buttons".
What program did the student use?
draconis93 1 year ago
@draconis93 Hi, our students typically use Maya and/or XSI, as well as ZBrush and Renderman depending on their needs. Thanks!
