  • This guy is great!!!

  • Thumbs up if Walden Schmidt did make you watch that

  • All hail Grubb's catalyst

  • I have a rodium coin

  • I wish you were my science teacher

  • My science teacher knows his stuff, but he's a terrible teacher. I wish you were mine.

  • @kristijanadrian i'm no chemist but it is used as a plating in jewelery...QVC has had some junk plated with Rh, prolly a few microns thick.

  • Half a million pounds of Rh, must mean the value not the weight because that would be 10 times the world annual production.

  • @lorax2013 Ah now it makes perfect sense. He says "Half a million pounds worth of". Otherwise, by weight it would be $17 billion worth of metal.

  • @yuppyguitar when he says pounds, he means British currency.

  • @quantumbrewer Yes, hence my saying "makes perfect sense."

  • Unless the chemical reaction was going to save the world, I would not use Rhodium in a reaction, I would sell it.

  • Did pirates use rhodium in jewelery making?

  • The process that the professor mentions is called the Monsanto process, but it has been largely supplanted by the Cativa process, which uses a -cheaper- iridium catalyst. The catalyctic cycle of both processes are identical though.

  • On the Rhodium... Just can't wait to get on the Rhodium... The life I love is making music with my friends, and I can't wait to get on the Rhodium.

  • i dont think ive ever heard a chemist say ethanoic acid before with a straight face

  • Damn, I sold all my Rhodium on Ebay, I think I got ripped off :(

  • $6200 per troy ounce as of September 2007! talk about rare and super expensive!

i wish I had this guy as my chemistry teacher love his hairstyle :)

  • Yea the man has style.

  • Although expensive, jewelry that is "white gold" is often coated with a thin layer of rhodium.

  • very rare.

  • Never knew rhodium was that rare

  • awesome vids wish i had of found them before i did my science gcse exam

  • these videos are very educating.
