  • Ironic how the bird flew right at the start...

  • I.m a chadsey grad. back in 1995, is that school still up and running? i remember my economy and geography teacher, mr bowen

  • dam shame what they did to chadsey....those kids fought so hard to keep it. but to no avail so sad.

  • Gary Bartz on the alto solo, JYEAH

  • I was told he attended Northwestern High School. Maybe both??? He's a good musician come what may.

  • But of course....Donald Byrd went to Cass Technical High School in Detroit! He was a Technician!

  • nice set. could you not feed the audio through an HD patch?

  • Detroit Stand Up

  • @meldon100 im standing! what!

  • Got both feet on the ground

  • Thanx for featuring our school in your video. Surprisingly we looked great! Great Job!

  • Top notch. Great vid.

  • thanx!

  • I had a lot of fun with this video. The tour of Detroit was great. A street named Berry Gordy Boulevard WOW. The world famous Hitsville USA. I got a natural high listening to this original version of this Donald Byrd classic. Kudos for playing the ALBUM that had signs of wear (ticks , pops and surface noise)

I LUV IT !!!!!! Baby, you wore that album out.

    You got good taste.

  • i want to visit Motown Museum there

  • I can only speak on Danny Roundfield. Watched him play at Central Michgan LIVE(we only lived 6 miles from the CMU) and OH my goodness what a joy of a player to watch. Back then you couldn't dunk in college ball, but if Central was ahead by enough, Danny would bring the thunder!

  • I heard that Danny lives in Atlanta now. His brother,Kevin Roundfield played at Mackenzie High School. The same school that produced Jerome Bettis,Pepper Johnson & Gilbert Brown. Kevin is a cracked out bum now. He was better than Danny!

  • That is a sad story. Are you sure he was better then Danny? :) Danny was damn good!

  • We both came out the same year in high school. He was from Mackenzie and I was from Cooley. Yes! I am going to take this video off & re-do it shortly.

  • Great musician, great song and great memories..but as for Detroit, last one out please turn the lights off!!!

  • I agree, the politics here are geared for the very wealthy to reside here in the near future with their hidden housing developments that the average working person can not afford. They are letting the working & lower class neighborhoods go down so that they can get the land for cheap. Look in the Detroit News Real estate section, you can buy a nice house now for $7,000.00 - $12,900.00! But 99.9% of our credit is shot to hell!!

  • What???

Being 2009 it would be interesting to see the prices now!!

Great Song and love documenting surroundings.

The(buildings are)here today gone Tommorrow theory for me.

  • Nice. Love the video and the song by the great Donald Byrd. Wanna visit Detroit now.

  • Come in July & stay and hang out downtown at night on weekends!

  • Very good video and tribute to the great trumpeter Donald Byrd. Thanx for posting & the info. I did not know that Donald was a Detroit native.I hope Detroit has a Donald Byrd Ave..

  • You are very welcomed.

  • cool
