Such originality down to earth with nature can only be found in Marathi movies. A legend. I used to hear this from my childhood. Still it is my favourite. Sivaramakrishnan Hyderabad
Thank you for putting this nice piece of art. Use to listen to this song of AIR before. Now far away from motherland, youtube helps me keeping the tradition alive.
Really heart touching song.. Enjoying a lot.. telling about the reality what is happening daily in village life.. but alaas ! ! missing all this real and natural life in big cities.....
I wish I had been able to show this to my father before he passed away six months ago ... this was one of his most favorite songs and he would have really liked it. Thank you for the post.
Thanks a million for your devotion and effort to share with us..the comments/translation has helped me in somewhat understanding and appreciating this even more...may Allah bless you.
A beauty. The Raag Bhoopali has been immortalized through this song. Rightly the name of this is " Amar Bhupali". Jai Ho Bhoopali ! Amar Bhoopali ! Thanks SJIsBAck
Excellent song,i am not marati,i am from karnataka, but this song is so beautiful, and it is about blissful and beloved Krishna,i am just falling in love with Marathi.....:)
Oh such a beautiful song....One of our favourites. beautiful lyrics. I wish the younger generation listen to such songs to enhance their knowledge of music. It is these treasures that will help them to differentiate between Music and Noise.
this is just a wonderful upload . divine ! i am only familiar with two other songs defining dawn . jyoti kalash and jaago mohan pyaare . this is amazingly beautiful though i do not know the story about honaji . i was listening to it for the third time and describing it to my mother when vipan da's vivid and beautiful comments appeared ! thanks sir for the beautiful translation which enhanced the better understanding and enjoyment of this lovely song .
How exquisitely the poet captures the cleansing, purifying atmosphere of the dawn, vividly reminding us of how different creatures are stirring back to life-affirming action. Who can find anything but inspiration in a prayer that celebrates life with such joyful devotion? The Lata part is, of course, sublime honey itself as always. And your translation conveys the moods of the original poetry elegantly,SJ. Thank you.
Thanks Vipan ji for sharing this beautiful prayer. This is my first video to watch and listen to in the starting of my day and while listening to it i felt i am at Shirdi and walking towards Shree Sai Mandir at dawn with so much joy in my heart and mind. Bless you. W.Respect. Sarla.
I did notice Lalita Pawar and Sandhya both, but Sumati Joglekar is an unfamiliar name to me.( With that last name, I wonder if she is related to your family,SJ .).
Sumati Joglekar was well known as an actress, her maiden name was Sumati Gupte. She was married to Vasant Joglekar, a movie dirctor. I just found out on internet she died about four months ago at age of 90 years (amazing thing this internet!). I don't know where Jasbongy ji saw and recognized her on the clip.
I have her video clip of a song I have uploaded called "dhund madhumati " a famous song from a Marathi movie.
Heart-felt thanks to the up-loader. Is this movie available commercially in Chennai. Thanks once again (also for the translation)...
