Wolves are pretty fearless, but a cougar is aggressive too.
The only advantage a lone wolf would have in a fight over a cougar is that their bite force is stronger and they have more stamina.

yea the cougar did look pretty small. Cuz ive been around cougars and ive been aruond grey wolves the largest wolves and they looked about the same size 2 me

Wolves working together are unstopable. They have more stamina than bears and cats and will wear them down off a kill. 1on1 though a grizzly would maul it and a cougar could seriously injure it. The grey wolf here taking the cougars food had its tail between its legs, meaning it was not confident.
Wolves own though with a capital P.

unstopable unstopable i must say, i have saw a movie about wolf that got ravaged apart because of pack leader did get mauled early and rest did get down one after one.

a wolf can take on couguar if it must, in some case wolf can win in fight, because he is smart and probably tired the couguar and then after the couguar is exhaustion he goes on flash and couguar is off!!!! wolf is simply a wolf, you look at his eyes and you will see a courage and tenacious and power....

interesting.. Just can't help but wonder about the guys who think it matters which animal would win one on one. obviously, wolves live and hunt in packs, so that's the only thing that matters and ultimately, a pack of experienced wolves will wear down any other north-american predator, including any bear, even if it takes hours.

The wolf has a lot of fur, but it still could not take that cougar. The wolves did what they do best and tired that cougar out. One on one, it is not much of a fight though.

they only look bigger. its because their legs are so long, cougars have shorter legs and look smaller. but in reality, a wolf will weigh less than a cougar most of the time.

Foxes are smaller, have smaller brains than wolves and foxes don't have the same intelligence that wolves got. They are two different animals. Also dogs have 30% smaller brains than wolves.
