Was it just me, or did it seem like all of the motivation for blocking into the bathroom was so Black was actually "on the pot" for Burrs' line? I sure hope I'm missing something deeper than that, but I don't think so.... : (

@adaront Black is supposed to be white. Well, by 'supposed' he was originally white and I believe he was in LaChiusia's version as well. Taye Diggs was just cast because he was amazing :)

@wew1llr0ckyou I'ma have to dis agree lol. Because during many songs, and I played Black recently. Before Black sings in Poor Child, Kate says "Black and Queenie integrates." Also, ensemble refers to him as being dark and handsome. lol.

And most of Black's songs seem RnBish anyways lol. I'm just saying.

the direction was interesting.

in all the videos of this production i've seen I've been on the fence.

the beggining-i hated. almost too calm with them being asleep. doesn't work there.

but i loved the calmer tone taken during the conflict is great- some productions go overboard. this lets you focus on the amazing music in this song.

The voices are great; Burrs is kinda on and off but I love Queenie and Black.

no. that was just in the off-bway production. in fact, in the book (poem), he's white, and kate is a redhead. they just took liberties. i don't think anyone (in the stage version) is "supposed to be" anything, aside from queenie being blonde.

I miss a lot of the instruments. I think a big part of the song comes from the catchy chords. The acting is good though!

i actually like a lot of the choices the director made.

i thought burrs was especially great in this scene with the acting, and all three of you have killer voices! great job!
