Can some one please tell how to turn this damn thing on I download everything and nothing happens when I click it it just says no application selected and when I get into machine software the thing doesn't turn on
Props for a great video! If anyone wants to see some live jams and Vids of Native instruments maschine search the departure maschine in utube! Enjoy this vid and thanks to anyone for checking it out!
wow future music is still going........I have a free CD from your mag that was given away in the late 80's early 90's that some one made a certain drum and bass tune from called VALLEY OF THE SHADOW'S
Um, guys, wrt to latency in this video- it's the sync between sound and video in the media file and has nothing to do with any DAW latency. Just check the lip sync when he's talking.
i'm looking for some studio montirs that sound good without a sub but have a little thump to them. Can u point me to some? I heard the KRK's are pretty good!
@kevgees215 Krk are ok, been there done that, but since I upgraded to the Mackie MR8 I am able to output a better final mix. The KRK 5 bass is weak in comparison. The M-audio Audiophile Av40 are also perfect for small home studios.
I get no latency from Maschine at all. I don't think he's got his DAW/computer tweaked as well as it should be. I'm using Maschine on 5-year old desktop as well as a year-old laptop, and zero latency. It's all about how you set it up. Latency (even minimal like this video) doesn't bother some people. Maybe it doesn't bother him as much. I personally couldn't deal with even a slight delay like that. I doubt NI paid for his opinion... I just think he didn't tweak his system that well.
The minimal latency in this video is NOT due to Maschine, NOR due to his computer!
He is using Maschine as a PLUGIN in a fully loaded, fully mixed music project. He is using Logic Pro but this applies no matter WHAT your host is: As you add more and more tracks and effects to a project, each of those plugins add a tiny bit of latency to the WHOLE song. Basically each virtual audio plugin takes a little bit of time to process, and the host will delay EVERYTHING to compensate so it stays synced.
Clarification: The workarounds above are GENERIC, host-independent workarounds. However, users of Logic Pro 8 or higher will be happy to know it has a "Low Latency Mode" switch in the transport bar. When enabled, Logic will automatically BYPASS the slowest audio plugins for the selected track until the track's latency is withing a pre-configured MAXIMUM such as 5 ms (user configurable). It disables the slowest plugins first. This lets you record new parts without disabling plugins manually. ;-)
@LimpBizkitFan4Lyf I use maschine in fully loaded projects with no loatency issues at all. I wonder a few things 1) if he is in low latency mode and 2) what he set his buffer at on this... (i have no problems running under 11ms of latency.)
I fucking hate cowbells.

There are ONLY three ways around this:
1) Don't start mixing (adding audio effects) until the end, that way you avoid the main latency-adding plugins until the drum tracks are already done.
2) Create your drum tracks using the standalone program for Maschine, but then you can't sequence along with the other music.
3) Disable the most latency-causing plugins while adding new rhytms, and re-enable them afterwards.
So again folks: THE LATENCY IS NOT DUE TO MASCHINE!
