  • Your video is popular on Monaco

  • Your vid went viral on Serbia

  • Check out the eBook "Joe Meek's Bold Techniques 2nd Edition" by Barry Cleveland, chockablock with information about Meek's production techniques and his extraordinary contributions to recording.

  • It is interesting how Joe Meek's fascination with space, extraterrestrial life, non-human intelligences and the occult is often played down or somehow seen as the epiphenomena of his queer 'outsider' status when personally I think it is central to his psyche and the way he was able to absorb, integrate and communicate new sonic possibilities that existed far beyond the consensus reality of post-war Britain's musical landscape..great video!

  • Another classic case of "what might have been" Meek and Goddard's partnership was very original & productive but Joe's "control freakiness" hurt Geoff & others & bought things to an end far too soon. Meek had a creative technical genius decades before his time, so sad. Just imagine the Beatles & Tom Jones "under his wing" too! How different they could all have been with those spacey echoes, clangs, buzzes & twangs ...Imagine!

  • I come from the stars :)

  • Great song, how could this not reach the chart ?

  • The Martian man's voice, and tinny sounding instruments create the right atmosphere. quite a collection of images.

  • I'm speechless. Wow.

  • an alien abduction song! It's great! Where dee-oo you come frommm? The alien abducts the Lucky Charms Leprechaun. Gotta love Joe Meek.

  • Great song! Just wonder how high Meek/Goddard would've gone if The Beatles wouldn't have been or have had less success. It's very rare that someone is saying or writing about this ''parallel universe'', The Beatles is a holy cow. I like The (early) Beatles but it's fun to think how it would been. =)

  • Though Joe Meek was "of his time" completely, when I hear this & the "New World" recordings I seriously wonder what it would have sounded like if he worked with some of the more "out-there" Psychedelic bands from the '67 UK's UFO/Middle Earth club scene. Imagine if Joe had dropped LSD at the 14 Hour Technicolour Dream, I wonder what sounds he would have heard in his head & put down on tape?! It could've pushed Meek-sound into a next phase of pure creativity without the standard Pop restraints!

  • @rnrmst totally agree, bonkers!

I played "i hear a new world" to my mates the other day - they laughed - but when you compare it to what was around at the time it was years ahead!

meek on acid in 67 would be total universal chaos!

    genius!

  • Fantastic record...i do have the original white demo.all of geoff records should have been hits...

  • Joe Meek at the controls! Avant-pop with a magickal flourish, who could ask for more! I always get annoyed that he is invariably excluded whenever the history of electronic music and record production is recounted (or he gets a brief passing mention)...In my opinion he was up there with Stockhausen, Pierre Schaeffer, Pierre Boulez , Phil Spector, BBC Radiophonic Workshop, Bob Moog et al & the fact he worked in the "pop" medium is irrelevant...the guy was a sonic alchemist!

  • I actually think Joe's accent rubbed off to Geoff....it's very clear on some of the lyrics sung.

  • fun songs to make fun vids to!!!

  • Outtasite slides ☼ .•

  • Classic tune.

  • look at this: /watch?v=ZI_TtZno8-0

  • In fact, I never realised that Geoff actually made vocal recordings!

  • Great work in posting this gem, elofan567..

Where the hell did you find it? LOL

  • This brilliant, best thing I've heard in years!!!

  • Be not afraid .....for we come....in peace !

  • Loved all Joe Meek's stuff. Does anyone remember a B & W 60's movie that had Heinz in it?

  • Live it up was one.

  • children of earth be not afraid for we come in peace

  • This is wonderful - thanks for posting it. But check out the Wondermints cover of Skyman - its possibly even better!

  • Me an' m'daarlin'

  • LOL!

  • who needs george martin

  • This is actually my favourite Joe Meek track as it sums up everything about what Joe could do when he wanted a commercial hit and a bit of fun. A simply amazing production, speeded up, a great and interesting tune and a genius songwriter and pianist in Geoff Goddard with a sonic alchemist at the controls. geoff wrote Johnny Remember Me and plays the Clavioline in Telstar. Geoff sadly passed away on May 15th 1999. He is missed by many.

  • Geoff recorded 3 singles under his own name, best remembered for writing Johnny Remember me.He ended up washing up at Reading University which is why theire is a dedication to him on British Sea Power's first album - Scott and Simon from the band knew him there.

His character is featured in the recent film Telstar.

  • Sorry, the flip side was For eternity. I hope someone can post that one.

  • The flip side of this was 'walk with me my angel' sung by Geoff Goddard.

  • Have you got 'Walk with me my angel'? This is one of the most beautiful songs I've ever heard.

  • This is pure testament to Joe Meek's genius!

  • ive just uploaded some meek if ya interested

  • Thank you for uploading this! Do you have any other Geoff Goddard recordings? (they are very rare)

  • Im afraid i havent sorry,I have lots more joe meek to upload tho keep watching.
