The difference here is that John Bolton was contreversial. If Bush would have nominated someone else he or she would be confirmed! John Bolton couldn't get confirmed by Reoublicans and Democrats alike.

Fast-forward to today,Senate Republicans were blocking not only Richard Cordray, but anyone the President nominates no matter who the nominee was, because they don't like the agency he would head. a refusal to "advise and consent" is a violation of the constitution!!

Strange how the interview has to end when Senator Corker gets into the FEDERAL RESERVE funding the National Labor Board and the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau. Congress has NO input or check & balances over this agency.

Please start the process of challenging the legality of bypassing the Senate completely of any hearings. If we continue to allow these abuses from all Presidents (republican or democratic) we are headed to facism. Actually if you analyze our huge government today...we are already there but the average American citizen is completely ignorant of this.

All these kinds of end runs around Congress by Obama are way out of bounds and definite steps towards a Dictatorship where a self justifying President like Obama ignores the will of the people in their elected State representatives and rules via his henchman in these unaccountable and powerful federal agencies. We are not much different from the early stages of Hitler and Stalin at this point. These are very dangerous times. Americans need to wake up and demand an end to these subterfuges.
