I wonder how the patterns would "dance" if you play music through that plate, not just a sound of a certain pitch. I mean a regular music record - ambient would probably be most suitable, as it is slow, allowing grains time to move into patterns.
@TheRealVerbz hate to burst your buble, but the picture just comes into focus when the note is of the harmonic series of the plate, and gregorian chants are sung based on the harmonic series already...
@Muzikman127 The current scale sang by the Vatican is not the original scale.
No bubble burst.
Speaking of bubbles. Look into the term "sonoluminescence". Cool stuff. literally.
And I'm going to be filming a new cymatic experiment that hasn't been seen before to my knowledge.
Instead of a speaker I'm going to use an electro-magnet. Rather than sand particles or water, I'm going to use mercury or iron shavings and then tune the harmonic magnetic flux to create patterns. Stay tuned on my page.

Human voice vibrations can form shapes of things on earth.
God's voice creates those things.

Your music is beautiful. Not just this, but your music on Myspace as well. I just had to say that.
I thought of Gregorian chants when I first saw this video as well. I think it might be interesting to play or sing them through the Chladni plate.

I can see a machine created to assist singers to be on key.
Not everyone can hear a pitch correctly and duplicate it, but you know you are singing the correct key if the picture is beautiful.
Songs should be made from that premise and they will probably have beneficial qualities.
It is said by Vatican officials that the original notes from the gregorian chants were lost centuries ago.
When people sang the right key together you could levitate things and people.
Stonehenge was built that way.
