Aside from Zuko everyone actually seems pretty good. Keep in mind it's a fictional world... there is no asia in the world of Avatar. So long as the actors look remotely like the characters they represent and M Night doesn't mess with the story I think it'll be great.

Yet Persia is a very real place on Earth but Avatar's world is completely fictional. There are so many other examples out there of characters played by actors not of their ethnic background. So I stand by my point to just forget about the casting and enjoy the movie.

1st of all when this show first aired i thought this show looked ridiculously dumb but in the end of 2nd season, i saw an episode. Hey, lets just say the movie looks absolutely amazing. And if you think its gonna be bad, don't even say anything. I'm just upset that its not called Avatar: the last airbender. James Cameron apparently owns the HELL out of that name
I can already hear reviewers talking about the problems with this movie. First off, it's taking a children's anime and handing it to M. Night Shamalhagan, who's "expertise" is in horror films. Secondly, the CGI is probably going to look pretty nice throughout with water/earth/fire/air bending, but the plotline and any character development is either being misled by these trailers or is just getting demolished in the movie. Avatar: TLA are going to be pissed by this movie, is my guess.
The reason why it's not being handled like a child's movie (that trailer was not for a child's movie) was because although it was on nickelodeon, It targets older people as well. The series gets very dark as it progresses. The makers of avatar are behind it as well. it isn't being taken by M. Night Shamalhagan. apparently the directors of the series are very involved. I trust them to keep true to the show.
I'm just going to hope for the best, and hope that this doesn't ruin the best show

If you people would actually look up the makings of the show, you'll find out that the cartoon was made in America by Nickelodeon and is no way linked to Japanese anime. Michael Dante DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko, who were the creators and producers of the show, helped direct and design the characters of Family Guy and King of the Hill. The story is just Asian based.

i saw the most of this movie at my movie theaters. it wasnt completely finished and their were some special effects that were not completed yet. But for the most part, i can say that if you were a fan of the cartoon then you will like this movie. The only think i didnt like was there was really no killing involved. Instead the enemies ran away and fled from battle. I also didn't like how it never showed the avatar and his friend (the girl, i forgot her name) bonding or anything like that.

The show was AMAZING! and so i learned that i shouldnt judge a book by its cover and hopefully you will learn that too........... well were fighting off opinions and were not going anywhere..... but in my opinion i think the movie looks great and i will spend the $10 on it.

Actually it has about as much in common with the show as the DBZ movie did with its source material. Go ahead and make a list I promise you it'd be very very close. And its not about being exactly like the source material or judging a book by its cover its looking at this trailer and seeing the very shallow attempt there making. If Roger Egbert con condemn he casting job then you know you have a problem.

@LonewolfXIII yes i know.ive seen it. but aang was 11 when the show started and went to like 13 or 14. he starts out young. throughout the trilogy hes gonna look older so there basicly no problem. and he was short in the show as well so i think its the closest anyone can be looking like aang. im surprised you think that cuz in my opinion, the person whos zuko should be sokka and the person who is sokka should be zuko. aang is not the problem. but i still dont think its a terrible cast

I can already hear reviewers talking about the problems with this movie. First off, it's taking a children's anime and handing it to M. Night Shamalhagan, who's "expertise" is in horror films. Secondly, the CGI is probably going to look pretty nice throughout with water/earth/fire/air bending, but the plotline and any character development is either being misled by these trailers or is just getting demolished in the movie. Avatar: TLA are going to be pissed by this movie, is my guess.

The reason why it's not being handled like a child's movie (that trailer was not for a child's movie) was because although it was on nickelodeon, It targets older people as well. The series gets very dark as it progresses. The makers of avatar are behind it as well. it isn't being taken by M. Night Shamalhagan. apparently the directors of the series are very involved. I trust them to keep true to the show.
I'm just going to hope for the best, and hope that this doesn't ruin the best show

If you people would actually look up the makings of the show, you'll find out that the cartoon was made in America by Nickelodeon and is no way linked to Japanese anime. Michael Dante DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko, who were the creators and producers of the show, helped direct and design the characters of Family Guy and King of the Hill. The story is just Asian based.

Well another point to be noted is that the director M.N Shyamalan has associated all the indian actors with the FIRE nation,chk out the cast and crew,most are fire nation soldiers or commander!He perhaps wanted to provide his audience with a clear borderline between his protagonists and the antagonists,a clear racial difference to put a greater impact and better visualization of the audience that could have been his objective!!

i saw the most of this movie at my movie theaters. it wasnt completely finished and their were some special effects that were not completed yet. But for the most part, i can say that if you were a fan of the cartoon then you will like this movie. The only think i didnt like was there was really no killing involved. Instead the enemies ran away and fled from battle. I also didn't like how it never showed the avatar and his friend (the girl, i forgot her name) bonding or anything like that.
