Even if Shepard somehow dies saving the galaxy in ME3 (which he won't because he is the main character, and it's not that kind of game), humanity is still pretty much giving a huge middle finger to the Reapers just by fighting! Can't wait until March 6th!

@ISNIICE Yah, me too. As long as you went Paragon in ME2, that will probably give you more allies from ME2. Otherwise, youre probably going 2 have some alot harder situations in ME3.

Think about how epic the next game will be in like.... 35 days. Everything you do, everything you have done, all of it will matter in the next expansion. Just like you could see repercussions from Mass Effect in ME2... think about it. Wrex surviving Virmire leads to him uniting the Krogan under his leadership through politics. How will things like that come to fruition? How will it help and hinder? This is going to be just an amazing epic trilogy...

It would be funny if in ME3 it turns out the Reapers don't exist, and the events of ME2 never really happened and in ME3 it is revealed Shepard is just in a mental asylum after attacking specter Saren because he thought Saren killed Nihlus, but it was really just a jumpy dock worker.
The start is fantastic :) I really like the beginning it the music doesn't fit in once you get further into the video, but still the best fan made video I have ever seen. Good Job. Thumbs up from here. :)
Why didn't Shepard just time it so the relay would explode just as the reapers arrive in the system. If the blast destroys planets, it also destroys reapers.
@pbollekes It sounds like a good idea on the surface, but hindsight is 20/20. I don't think Shep wanted to risk any Reapers getting through the relay before it was destroyed. He knew that any more time he could get would be extremely valuable for galactic preparation. Though ME3 STARTS with a Reaper invasion, so they must've had a backup plan...maybe the alpha relay was one giant diversion. Those Reapers are smart.
@vendo233 The reapers come to the system after Alpha relay so they had travel to nearest star system with another mass relay. ME3 starts about 8 - 12 months after Arrival.

the alpha relay was the backup (the citadel being the primary) it just took them an X amount of time to reach the next relay, however this was to give the galaxy months to prepare, im just wondering what the alliance have done

@vendo233 The Reapers dont use a relay to enter the galaxy, they do it the long way and start with the Batarians because they were the closest habitable worlds to their entry point. After that they head for the nearest habitable system, the Local Cluster... Earth.

By blowing it up they simply delayed their arrival since now they have to go to the system beyond that. But traveling to an entire different system without a relay takes time without being able to use the "jump"
@pbollekes In the fiction Mass Relays are simply accelerators linked between a handful of other relays, the relay that Shepard destroyed wasn't only linked with the relay being approached by reapers on the edge of darkspace but others that spanned the entire network. If the reapers made that jump there's nothing saying they wouldn't just use the Batarian relay as a hop point and linger no more than a few seconds before being accelerated to another relay deeper within the galaxy.

@supertaco6 Actually the part of the video which showed the Reapers at the Alpha Relay was part of a vision transmitted to Shepard via Object Rho. It was a vision of what was to come and sets the rest of the DLC up in which you race against to stop to prevent that vision becoming reality.
@pbollekes I thought about it too, but i think timing is too hard to pull out, besides then reapers appear they could just crash into meteor. This idea is good but way too risky even if few reapers survive galaxy is pretty much fucked.

@pbollekes To my mind Shepard was afraid that if the reapers come closer, they could destroy the asteroid. I mean - they're pretty good at reaping and destroing things - they manage to destroy all the life in the universe every 50000 years and still make a living of it, so some piece of rock is no match for them.
The Reapers also knew they were trying to destroy the relay, Harbinger said it was not a victory to destroy a system. So they prob would not of flown into the blast range anyway.

I think the point of adding Arrival so long after release was because they intended for us to beat Mass Effect 2 first, because if you ask me it feels like they intended it to actually be Reaper Harbinger in the cutscene. Prothean Harbinger just looks awkward.
@WBPb6 I agree. When I recorded that, I was in the middle of another playthrough and didn't even think about it. I guess I was paying attention to other things like dialogue. If I had caught it before uploading, I would have fixed it.
harbinger is the reaper who indoctrinated the protheans/collectors. Thats why during the cutscene when you're running to the Normandy after the suicide mission, the reaper hologram says "Releasing control" and the collector general's eyes lose their glow.
I don't know what I will do after I finish me3 because like Casey said me3 ends Shepards story, so if ends there and they decide to do me4 there will be no point because it wont be so epic without Shepard.

@supertaco6 Actually the part of the video which showed the Reapers at the Alpha Relay was part of a vision transmitted to Shepard via Object Rho. It was a vision of what was to come and sets the rest of the DLC up in which you race against to stop to prevent that vision becoming reality.

@pbollekes I thought about it too, but i think timing is too hard to pull out, besides then reapers appear they could just crash into meteor. This idea is good but way too risky even if few reapers survive galaxy is pretty much fucked.

@pbollekes To my mind Shepard was afraid that if the reapers come closer, they could destroy the asteroid. I mean - they're pretty good at reaping and destroing things - they manage to destroy all the life in the universe every 50000 years and still make a living of it, so some piece of rock is no match for them.

The Reapers also knew they were trying to destroy the relay, Harbinger said it was not a victory to destroy a system. So they prob would not of flown into the blast range anyway.

I think the point of adding Arrival so long after release was because they intended for us to beat Mass Effect 2 first, because if you ask me it feels like they intended it to actually be Reaper Harbinger in the cutscene. Prothean Harbinger just looks awkward.

harbinger is the reaper who indoctrinated the protheans/collectors. Thats why during the cutscene when you're running to the Normandy after the suicide mission, the reaper hologram says "Releasing control" and the collector general's eyes lose their glow.

I don't know what I will do after I finish me3 because like Casey said me3 ends Shepards story, so if ends there and they decide to do me4 there will be no point because it wont be so epic without Shepard.

So i see no sense in making me4 because without Shepard this would not be the same game like halo 1,2,3,4 without master chief, look at the halo 3 odst it sucked because you were made to play a simple human not a spartan.
