If the plane landed on the reef, TIGHAR has wasted a lot of time and money searching for and finding items, all of which could have been left by British colonist who were on the Island within a year of Earhart's disappearance. The mystery could be solved, at least as to whether she landed on the Island, by searching the ocean next to the reef where the alleged wreckage was spotted by a native colonist in 1938 with proper equipment. The constant digging is a waste of time.
