What is most amazing to me is that the theme song is neither a variation of "Merrily We Roll Along" nor of "The Merry-Go-Round Broke Down." I grew up associating this theme song with MM and didn't even know what Looney Tunes was. I know now that this was never the standard tune for the original series, but why did they reinvent the wheel? Not only could they have varied their variation of MWRA, but they could also have varied MGRBD, as it was the theme song for both series in the 60s.
I remember there being multiple openings. One "also starring" Foghorn Leghorn, which Daffy erased with a pencil, one with Porky Pig, which Daffy painted his on face over Porky's, and one that started with the exact same Sylvester and Sylvester Jr. footage, but then changed to Yosemite Sam, where Daffy folded the screen up teeny tiny.

I remember that show when it was first shown on WWOR-TV back around 1990 and it was shown at 7:00 AM weekday mornings, which was followed an hour later by "Mighty Mouse and Friends" at 8:30 AM. I missed those days. I used to taped them all the time since I was 12 along with the Mighty Mouse cartoons which was later on after these two shows.
@tvnutboy Double nitpick: It ran in syndication for two years, moving to Fox in 1992.

This opening is well done and very fluid.
